I love that you left room for non-synthetic/natural ingredient gels. Sometimes as black naturals we try to out natural the meaning of natural and it's not to shit on "botanical" but I love that you subconsciously acknowledge that a lot of us are looking for Eco/Wetline type of result and don't give a damn between the diff of botanical and all natural lol

Your hair looks absolutely beautiful! It looks so healthy, shiny and full. I'm so happy you told us this was a twist out. I was guessing a wash and go all day.
@1GoldenBreeze3 жыл бұрын
What, no KKCC!?! 🤣 🤣 It's the first botanical gel I used back in 2008 and is still in my stash to this day. Haven't used all of the ones on your list yet, but the ones I have used are great. I especially like the Obia Naturals Custard because many times I get much more hold than I want from some of the gels since I tend to wash and restyle twice a week. I've been eyeing Ecoslay, but it may have more hold than I'm comfortable with.

I also like Adowa when I want day 2 or 3 hair day 1! I don't get longevity from it tho so I only use it when I want volume for an event or get together.

Great video. Thank you for the tip on Treluxe. I don't get flakes but I don't get much hold either so I'll try the reverse wngo. Another 3 products in the realm of botanical products are Nature's little secret flaxseed gel and the Irish Moss cream and Ecoslay's Orange marmalade. A little goes a long way to avoid flaking though.
@iateyursandwiches3 жыл бұрын
7:30 yeah same with themane choice crystal orchid gel. They say to mitigate the flaking, use the oil that comes with it under. Also, with mielle coiling custurd.

UFD is updating their labeling and curly magic now has glycerin (with a few other things) listed in the ingredients. People who have gotten bottles from Target have the updated label.
@danyale063 жыл бұрын
I noticed on their website that they still have the old ingredient list. I wonder if I purchase directly if I will still get the old bottles.

That’s a real pity as I really liked that gel. I tend to avoid products with glycerin as I don’t like how it makes my hair look.
@felicia_7163 жыл бұрын
UFD is claiming the ingredients haven't changed, they are just updating the label. That seems a little suspect to me. Even is that is the case, I can no longer trust the brand. It's really to bad because the gel was GOAT!
@baileysmom06013 жыл бұрын
@@felicia_716 I know someone who has tried a bottle with the new label and said it appears to work the same. I agree it's suspicious though.
@baileysmom06013 жыл бұрын
@@danyale06 according to them the ingredients haven't changed. Just the label has. It's suspect to say the least. It's a pretty different ingredient listing imo. Wish I had a way to post the picture.

The Obia Naturals custard is bae 😍 It works for all hairstyles and never flake no matter what I pair it with 🙌🏾 UFD gave me great definition but not enough hold for this Florida heat 🤦🏾♀️ Curl maker and the lavender crush gel did absolutely nothing for my 4a/4b curls so both of them went right back to Target 🤷🏾♀️ I don’t plan to try any of the other gels because I found my true love in the Obia Naturals custard and unless they change the formula, her and I will be together forever 🥰😂

Hiiii 🖐🏽 from the UK. Your hair is gorgeous! ❤️ Thank you so so so much for this info. I've been natural for about 6 years, my hair is type 4, tapered, and thought I was lo po (according to water test). I can do a wng but recently I've noticed my hair just won't retain moisture no matter what I do (hi po characteristics). I have a few botanicals and I know they're moisturising, but I struggled to find a leave in that mixed well but didn't add too much moisture, cos then my hair wouldn't curl. I also have PM The Conditioner, so you've just solved my problem. And the info about the oil for Xanthan gum based products is just gold! Update: Just did a WnG, it came out great! PM the Condish, SM Cupuaçu Gel (elongation), a little SM Coconut & Hibiscus Gel Soufflé (very moisturising oily gel), and topped with ORS Curl Clumping Gel (for hold). Moisture, shine, elongation, definition and hold. My quest is finally complete! 👍🏽❤️
