2022: I think the only change I would make to this list is UFD Curly Magic. With recent changes, I would knock it off this list because it's just way too temperamental to recommend. I still use UFD on top of or under other gels, but by itself it's a no for me.

Please do the mixed chicks and UFD. I absolutely have to try the treluxe gel by itself. I use UFD by itself or top with another compatible gel. UFD - a lot of water and less gel combats stickiness. I'm so excited. just received my Kazmaleje comb this afternoon.

The treluxe high definition curl gel worked well for me with the kinky curly knot today leave in. However, the definition was better when I used the gel by itself.

Great suggestions! With my super-fine hair, I have to watch how much product I use. While I do like the Melanin leave-in, using it with the styling cream gives me white christmas snow flakes, so I will pair it with one of the Curls gels. Depending upon how much I'm going to be out of the house dictates which gel I use. I'm still working from home, so my hair is mostly just in flat twists and under a bonnet or headwrap (if I have meetings).

It's so funny because I'm watching the video and I literally have none of the products you're talking about 🤣🤣🤣🤣 So guess what, I've got to go grab some of that Trey lux ASAP because I've heard really good things about it anyway. And the blueberry bliss gel was on my list for the memorial Day sale but I didn't get it because the shipping was too high (I was being cheap but I had to save my coins)! I did manage to get my hands on the curls blueberry bliss leaving and the twisting custard. And thankfully I also have the Curls gel in the green bottle. P.S. I was really shocked with the frozen drip and grip and the mixed chicks combo 😲

Your hair always looks amazing. I have both projucts and I want to try it the way you did yours with that combo. But I'm confused on which to do first. Do I used the mixed chicks leave in first after I shampoo my hair? And do I need to use another conditioner after shampooing?

I shampoo, condition, then add styling products (i.e. mixed chicks)

Also I have tried every suggestion to preserve my WNG overnight it is difficult no matter what method I have tried! Twisting still seems to work best for me!

Yes, this is a very great question. I had more growth and length retention by keeping my hair stretched and put away in flat twists and buns. I thought I could do a braid out because it's low manipulation and stretches the hair, but my hair being worn out resulted in a trim and loss of length. So, a video on this would be helpful.
