I used to laugh my butt off at the things that would happen with my kids. They'd get more offended that I was laughing than whatever happened. I tell 'em, 'Come on, you know that's funny' before laughing some more. More than often, they'd end up laughing too. Not all three have a child or children of their own. Time for them to love & laugh too. Most of the world is just too darned serious & easily offended these days. It's nice to see the there are still other families having a good time & growing as a unit.

Just be polite to the truckers. My husband is an owner operator and he does preventive maintenance at home so he usually passes his inspections. He has gotten some hateful troopers in the past and after a few minutes he usually gets the trooper out of the bad mood. He's just so polite they are so grateful that they are nice back. Kindness gets results.

Daniel, story you might enjoy. My brother was driving a semi & was stopped by a NYS trooper, the reason being the trooper thought the truck was overweight. Scale was brought in, my brother kept professing the truck was very much below weight. The truck was weighed & was under by quite a bit. The trooper couldn’t understand why he was going so slow.
