It's always amazing what human ingenuity can accomplish. Hand woven textiles take a lot of work. Here is a fascinating presentation showing the skills of the weavers and spinners as they use traditional ingredients and techniques to weave very complex patterns. Insects such as the Cochineal and plants like purple corn grown in the Sacred Valley of Chinchero Peru, are used to dye the wool various colours.
Afterwards, across the street, we were allowed to pet and feed the Alpacas and llamas. We felt like kids again petting these gentle animals.

Love this, how did you get only 2 comments? I hope they can carry on their culture in this world that is just getting more weird all the time

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. The majority of viewers will just look without leaving a comment. It's all good. As long as someone learns something of value then that's quite alright. :) Agreed on the cultural aspects. Lots of things happening including the changing climate that are affecting the indigenous people are over the planet. Looking at the history of South America, the effects of the past are still very strong and being felt today. Not an easy life at all. Take care. Rob.

Very pretty!! What is the name of the woman who showed the weaving?? I would like to see more of your presentations about your beautiful culture! (Sorry if any mistakes, I don't speak English fluently so I used the translator)

Thank you! I arrived just as the presentation was starting. So was not able to get her name. They created some very beautiful pieces. We bought and took home different coloured rolls of the alpaca wool and they are so very soft. When knitted into items that can be worn, they feel very nice.
