Traverse incredible distances in your giant voidship, traveling between a multitude of systems across the Koronus Expanse, a barely charted and incredibly perilous area of space. I was really looking forward to this episode. All the reviews for this game pointed to this area, and this fight in particular (and the final boss of this area) as the point where the difficulty spiked for an absurd amount. And considering you have been complaining the game has been too easy, I was hoping you wouldn't be disappointed. There is an achievement for beating the Defiler without destroying any of the plasma batteries. I got that on my first Core playthrough and literally killed the Defiler on the first turn without him ever getting a turn. Obviously since the nerfs to Officers I am not sure this would still work, but Cassia was my Grand Strategist so she went first, gave my PC a turn, he heavy boltered the Defiler (with the permanent armor and deflection striping from Pyromancy passives). Then it was Cassia's turn again from Officer's bonus first turn, gave my PC a turn again, I did an AOE Psychic Scream, killed enough little dudes to fill momentum, then heavy boltered the boss again. Back to Cassia, she used the momentum to give my PC another turn, and by this point Defiler had 0% armor and deflection, and just died. Was comically easy, and kinda made me think reviewers made a bad build. Anyway, the final fight of this area is much harder than this one, in my opinion, so you have that to also look forward to. Oh, but I am glad you struggled with this boss because I have never seen it attack, so it was neat to see what the hype was about. :)

54:03 Death Whisper only gives the haemorrhage effect if it lands a successful attack or hit. Your previous use of the ability did not work because it was a miss.
