I appreciate you listing some of the colors used for flesh tones. It's so interesting to compare different colors used by different artists! The painting is coming along beautifully. Years ago, I helped a DNR warden capture an injured swan. (It had flown into power lines and bloodied its beak, but seemed otherwise ok.) It was amazing to see how big they are up close - it made me think of a small feathered dinosaur.

Indeed all swans are geese. Or in other words the genus cygnus (swans) is part of the subfamily anserinae (which at least in German is called "Gänse" which is part of the "Entenvögel"). Not sure entirely about the English names.

Swans are sometimes are considered under their own sub family hence the confusion, but they are very very close. Swans are bigger and tend to have the long neck with the s curve so probably why people are arguing with you. 😅 but artistic interpretation is yours to do with what you wish!

Its Goose mine friend, isnt swan, difrent heads etc. Il thinking about oils you selling at first il thinking its 20ml oils and two package is like 40ml Rembrandts profi, but when IT comes togheter 15ml per tube.Color is real quality but small package.

Swans and geese are not more related than a fox and a wolf. Both can be very fierce if it is about to defend themselves or especially their young, that's pretty similar though (and terrifying if you are on the receiving end). You can call your painting whatever the heck you want, though. Goose Girl is just as valid and sounds even better :D

Goose and swan are not the same. While they are similar, swan belongs to the genus Cygnus while goose belongs to the Anser and Branta genus. What you painted here is a swan.

So Leda and the Swan... Then why the title is "Goose Girl"? Of course you can name your art as you want, but the Goose girl story is totally different tale than the Leda and the Swan Greek mythology. The actual "Goose Girl" is a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm. Don't you remember the scene when the girl walking under the gates with the gees and her cut horse head talking to her? So when you wrote "Goose Girl" I was sure of it that you will paint the Goose girl. Hehe! By the way, the painting is amazing.

The title is goose girl because it started as an internal joke/code name but it grew on me and now I think it makes the painting unmistakably 21st century with a title that doesn’t take itself too serious

Some are saying that Ai was used to create this and leaving negative comments. I’m torn on this. Ai poses such a threat to art as we know it. If more and more artists will implement this copying from Ai prompts, oil painting will transform into something that resembles “paint by numbers” art. I think we should all come together and save this form of art from disappearing in that way. But Alpay deserves his flowers for always being transparent with his techniques. He’s also a great master and is in the forefront of keeping oil painting as form of art alive. He deserves respect

OK off-topic so skip this if you don’t like that. Eric Bana and Brad Pitt had a Gentlemans agreement when they filmed Troy. They did the fight stunts themselves and decided a tap cost $50 and a hard blow was $100. It ended up Brad Pitt had to pay Eric Bana $750 but Eric did not owe Brad anything.
