You probably want to stomp Yang out sooner rather than later. He's unfortunately had time to expand to a large territory which includes a couple of good landmarks (like the Garland Crater). Yang's whole specialty is spamming out TONS of units with his production bonuses, and he is going to be in position to swarm you if you let him build up all those bases.

You couldn't attempt mind control of that Hive troop because he was in a stack. You can only attempt mind control of units that are by themselves. Also, their military units can evict your probe teams (send them back to your nearest base) if your probe team is in their territory, but as long as your probe team is in your own territory their military units can't attack it without declaring war. However, their probe teams can always attack your probe teams whether you are at war or not and whether you are in your own territory or not.

All the green forests are made up of Earth-based life, right? The xenofungus is pinkish-red. So the policy that works towards harmony with Planet should be called Red, not Green.

Green is shorthand for ecologically minded things on earth, also earth plants take well to Planet according to lore, I mean the forests you plant are trees from earth

​@@marciamakesmusic but wouldn't the planet recognise earth based as foreign & boot them out as a pathogenic terraforming agent? I mean it treats the humans that way then why not plants? The both are transformative to the planet in a way opposed to it's current Constitution.

I found that using two probe teams at the same time works well. The first one will get immediately evicted but the second one can be used to sneak in immediately

The issue with sea bases is poor production. The Mining Platforms just don't give enough. 5:15 Green is good for sprawling late-game empires where Growth isn't important, but Efficiency losses are huge. And for native wildlife strategies. 14:45 32:00 Giving in.

The world in this game is based on the "The Pandora Sequence" series written by Frank Herbert. Which I enjoy every bit as much as the Dune series. Edit: After the first book, Destination Void, it was cowritten with the author Bill Ransom. Destination Void is still good, but quite dated, even after his modern rewrite. The mind worms show up in book 2, The Jesus Incident.

haha yeah me too, yang is always broke because he spends it all on unit spam, 500 credits to him this early is going to pump up his army and escalate the situation not solve anything. Yang needs war to kill units off and soon he will need it more.

Probe can't mind control a stack yada yada, also If you look on the bottom right on the Faction Tech screen it will show you how much progress they've made in the tech tree. Yang is hella behind you in all categories. Definitely worth it to destroy his perimeter defenses with war on the horizon. Also everyone is tick off at you because you are following a different ideology than their primary focus ones. For Lal it's Democracy naturally. Yang Police State. Deirdre Green. Etc.
