Atlas is a titan and was a general in the Titanomachy (war of Titans’) Solomon is the man who conquered all 72 rings of hell and every demon in it. There were no discussions about who the mole could be amongst the team. They were just pissy at aqualad to stop and listen to his plan and everyone just went on their own.

I feel like a lot of people misunderstand this episode. They say, what happened on the mission is exactly why aqua lad didn't say anything, and that is not accurate. Aqualad did not tell the team about the mole because he was worried that the team would become paranoid and would be unable to trust each other, That is not what happened here.. There were no discussions about who the mole could be amongst the team. Instead the whole team was just upset with aqualad for witholding info that could have prepared them for what happened in the previous episode. Also, they felt that aqualad not telling them meant that he suspected them (specially wally and Dick) but the truth about that was, that aqualad didn't trust the source of the tip (Sportsmaster). That is why the mission went awry, not because everyone was distrustful of each other, they were just pissy with aqualad to stop and listen to a plan That is why everyone comes on board that kal did the right thing as soon as they find out about the source of the tip. Yes, People behaved a bit childishly but they were not 100% unreasonable. By the end of it they realized Aqualad's point of view and i think that is showing maturity for the people their age.

So the villains in this episode were from the Doom Patrol comics. the Brain raises the intelligence of animals, including the gorilla, whose name is Monsiuer Mallah. While the gorilla was originally a servant of the Brain eventually they develop a romantic relationship... Doom Patrol comics are weird. Also while i understand it wasn't really the time to get into it i hope Lupa filled Roshi in on the legal clusterfuck that surrounds the Captain Marvel/Shazam name.

Uncle Dudley which is not his real uncle but it is a very complex story line. The Brain and his gorilla partner, Monsieur Mallah sometimes are villains of the Doom Patrol. The two criminals are members of the Brotherhood of Evil and I justice League. Captain Marvel has a complex story. When his character was under Fawcett Comics DC sued Fawcett claiming Captain Marvel was too similar to Superman. Later Fawcett folded and DC obtained the rights to the character. Marvel came up with their own Captain Marvel a Kree soldier in the late 1960s when DC’s Captain Marvel was a huge success and DC had not trademarked the name. This court battle has been on and for decades and a few years ago Marvel won the rights to the name which is why he is called Shazam now. Shazam was never his name but the name of the Wizard that bestowed on Billy Batson the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Archilles and the speed of Mercury. This is why he is referred to as Captain Marvel in these early Young Justice episodes and why in the live action movie he was referred to as Shazam. The Marvel Family was also in that movie but if you notice none of them had Superhero names. Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel Jr. are the two most popular members of the family outside of Captain Marvel now known as Shazam. As always I loved your reactions and truly look forward to your next. So, the Captain Marvel thing... In 1940, a publishing house named Fawcett (notice what city Cpt. Marvel lives in) created Captain Marvel. For a time, he was the most popular superhero, outselling Batman and Superman. DC sued Fawcett for the similarities to Superman and, 12 years after Cpt. Marvel was created, they won. Captain Trademark infringement! Basically *Deep Breath* Captain Marvel, now sometimes known as Shazam, was created in the 1940's by Fawcett Comics to compete with the popularity of Superman and at one point was outselling superman by big numbers. So National Comics (now called DC) sued them for ripping off Superman and stopped them publishing. Then a few years later DC bought Fawcet outright Disney/Marvel/Fox style but never bothered making a Captain Marvel comic and in the meantime Marvel came around and made like 2 or 3 Captain Marvel's. So by the 1980's when DC wanted to use their captain marvel Marvel's lawyers were like "No way, we own the name now." In the end the lawyers managed to sort it so they could call the CHARACTER Captain Marvel because he came first. But could never publish a book called Captain Marvel at DC... So they called his book (and later the movie "Shazam!") and generally they stuck to using that as his name too in most mainstream settings but when you think about it thats kinda dumb cos everytime he says his own name he uses the magic word. When dc introduces the young justice in live action (which I assume they will) then they’d have to introduce Rocket to be part of the team, when marvel has their own Rocket (raccoon) as well for the guardians of the galaxy smh 🤦‍♂️.

Just as marvel is setting up introducing the young avengers now that the avengers have gotten old & some have died, it only makes sense. So, again explain how is it “so dumb”?

To explain the acronym for Shazam is S-Solomon(Wisdom) H-Hercules(Strength) A-Atlas(Stamina) Z-Zeus(Power) A-Achilles(Courage) M-Mercury(Speed) Also the famous figures that Shazam gains his power from aren’t all Greek God as. Solomon- A biblical figure who gained his wisdom from God. Hercules- A Roman demigod turned god(his Greek form is Heracles but due to Disney they confused the Roman and Greek names up making people mess them up. Atlas-A Greek Titan of endurance who is cursed to hold up the sky for all eternity. Zeus-Greek God of thunder and King of the Olympians. Achilles-A famous Greek hero who was killed in a war from a poison arrow shot into his heel(which is where the term “Achilles’s Heel”comes from. Mercury-A Roman God of Speed,Messengers,Thieves and Shopkeepers.(His Greek Form is Hermes.)And is one of the two messengers of the Olympians with the other being Iris Goddess of the Rainbow,

So yeah basically Captain Marvel was renamed to Shazam in 2011 (shortly after this show) in the new 52 reboot. For many years DC had the right to call the character “captain marvel” but not the right to call his comics “captain marvel” because marvel had the rights to that comic name for their version of captain marvel. So it would be a dc comic called “Shazam” which had the main character of “captain marvel”. When dc did a universe reboot in 2011 they took the opportunity to get rid of the Captain marvel and simply made him go by Shazam instead so his comic and character name would match. Obviously as you said this creates the issue that he can’t introduce himself without transforming. Shazam is also the name of the wizard he got his powers from. However despite popular belief DC is still legally allowed to use the name “captain marvel” in the comic books, just still not in the title. The name “captain marvel” was used as recently as the new Shazam rebirth comic. In said comic a character whom remembers the universe pre reboot known as “superboy prime” refers to Shazam as “captain marvel” much to Shazam’s confusion. An undead pre reboot version of captain marvel also appears with his gravestone reading “captain marvel”

Captain Marvel was original from Fawcett comics in the 1930's. His name Fawcett ceased publishing Captain Marvel-related comics in 1953, partly because of a copyright infringement suit from DC Comics alleging that Captain Marvel was a copy of Superman. DC has branded and marketed the character using the trademark Shazam! since his 1972 reintroduction. Though Mary is still called Mary marvel

A decade later, Marvel snagged the trademark and in Marvel Super-Heroes #12, they debuted a character Mar-Vell who sported the Captain Marvel name. Like he said Shazam is an acronym for the gods that captain marvel draws his powers from. Though its a bit less that hes called that to stop himself accidentally transforming and more that thats what he was originally called but with marvel having their own captain marvel they had the change the name to shazam in recent years. The gods are Solomon - wisdom Hercules - strength Atlas -stamina Zeus - power Achiles - courage (basically his invincibiliy) Mercury - speed

Shazam was originally created as Captain Marvel in the 1950s by Fawcett Comics, DC sued Fawcett because they said they were ripping off Superman, DC ACTUALLY WON, Captain Marvel was shelved ad eventually Fawcett got bought by DC. decades pass Captain Marvel is never used, then Stan Lee on Marvel discovers that they can actually copyright Captain Marvel, and they do just that, Now Carol Danvers is in Marvel as Captain Marvel, in the 90s after a lot of litigation DC chose to capitulate and rename their Capt Marvel as Shazam, otherwise and this is true, they will have to pay Marvel a bunch of $$$ every single time Billy mentions Captain Marvel. This is also the reason why Captain Marvel comics on DC during the litigation were never title as such, instead the title was "The Power of Shazam"

Shazam was never his name until recently. He was captain marvel before marvel had a captain marvel. DC acquired the character from Fawcett comics, IIRC, which is why he lives in Fawcett City Edit: actually Captain Marvel existed before Marvel was called Marvel, even. first written in 1939, and Marvel wasn't named Marvel until the 60s

A little info regarding the name of Captain Marvel, or Shazam now: Shazam was first introduced in 1939, as Captain Marvel under Fawcett Comics. From my understanding, DC then bought the character, and didn't really use him for a long time. Long enough that when Marvel's "Captain Marvel" was introduced, DC's "Captain Marvel" had been forgotten. So when DC tried to publish a new comic run featuring Captain Marvel, they were unable to title the series "Captain Marvel" because Marvel had since trademarked the name. Instead DC opted to title the run by Billy Batson's catchphrase "Shazam." Anyways, much later down the line around 2010, production for the solo movie started. But because of the trademark laws DC wouldn't be allowed to sell any merchandise using his superhero name, so they just outright tried changing Captain Marvel's name to Shazam. It didn't really stick until 2011 when DC started their New 52 reboot, and it's remained as Shazam ever since.

Corrections: The new 52 reboot happened in 2011 not 2016 and is what they used to change the name in universe to “Shazam” without a complicated reason. It’s simply that in the new 52 universe he never went by Captain marvel. The 2016 thing you’re thinking of is DC rebirth. Shazam only made a couple of appearances in rebirth with him strangely MIA throughout it. He finally got his own comic again in December 2018 (after black Adam returned in dark knights metal) where he does attempt to rename himself “captain marvel” in the first issue but is cut off before he can suggest the change. He therefore sticks with Shazam throughout the rest of the series. The name “captain marvel” does appear on a gravestone along with an appearance of a zombie/ Skelton pre new 52 captain marvel. Superboy prime also refers to Shazam as captain marvel, much to Shazam’s confusion. Whilst I am behind on dc comics he is still known only as “Shazam” as recently as early this year, with it still being his name in future state. However he, like everyone else, has regained their pre new 52 memories and thus he may revert back to the Captain marvel name
