Alpha One Niner x Carryology Stealth Cobra (Evade 1.5 Full) Review - Feature Packed EDC Legend!

Had the 1.5 evade full for 2yrs now. When traveling on longer trips with the kids, I use it as a personal item on certain airlines. I have the bungee cords in the front and the straps on the sides and bottom and didnt like the look either. However, those bungees and straps are so useful for certain situations. Also, the labtop compartment is roomy. I fully recommend it.

It was a nice introduction to A19 for me. I ended up selling it because it was a dog hair magnet. I got the Pathfinder instead which is fully VX and doesn't pick up dirt/hair as well. Both great bags!

Most uncomfortable shoulder straps and placement imo. I’ve been through 4 alpha one niner bags just because I love the design but hate the way it carries.

I really like both and I prefer the aesthetic and materials of the able carry max and the extra space makes it a little better for minimal travel and I would lean towards the evade for edc or if you like to have more organizational options. Dimensions of the gr2 26l heritage are bigger but comparing the shots of you wearing both, the stealth cobra looks bigger. Does that sound accurate/which one is indeed smaller?

Thank you for watching! I would say the gr2 feels deeper and the stealth cobra a bit taller. Although the footprint of the stealth cobra feels larger than the gr2, a lot of that space goes toward the additional organization / compartments and the gr2 ends up feeling like it can hold more

As with most Carryology collaborations, these sold out within minutes. (A19 did kindly run a lottery for prior customers to have a chance at a second batch. I doubt there will be a third batch.) And, as with most Carryology collaborations, a significant number could be found almost immediately on the secondhand market for the double the retail price. I've been checking eBay every few days since the drop, and there's been a steady 8-10 Stealth Cobras for sale, and occasionally a non-Stealth Cobra for sale. If you're interested in the Stealth Cobra, but don't want to spend the $$$ markup by the resale speculators that all got one in the drop, take a look at the Evade Full or the Evade Lite in one of the offered ripstops. I wish the video had explored the differences between the Stealth Cobra and a regular Evade Full, but they're pretty minimal, really: a new exterior fabric, hi-viz interior, compression strap deletion, and the water bottle pockets from the A19 Pathfinder. I love my Evade so much, I've been thinking about getting another one in one of the ripstops (it looks pretty sexy in the blue).

Hopefully a few pop up on the secondhand market that are reasonably priced as well, I’ve seen a few pretty good deals on the carryology Facebook group so definitely worth keeping an eye out for

@@rpcado2000 as Kevin mentioned, this was a limited edition release in-conjunction with Carryology, and the drop / release happened on June 14th. Everything sold out within 3.5 minutes stateside and there were 2 more drops in Singapore and Hong Kong that followed with similar results. We did also make a few dozen available strictly as a draw for our existing customers and that just ended last week. And that mate is the last of the Cobras.

You had to know this bag would be sold-out more than a month after it was released. You've put a lot of time and effort into a review of a bag your viewers can't buy (for a anything close to the retail price). And if you're going to respond by pointing out that people could always get the original version of the bag, I'll make the point that the original bag is probably the one should have reviewed; you could have then carved out some time in that video to show off your prized limited-edition version. As it is, the video is of (extremely) limited utility to your viewers.

Thank you for watching and for the feedback! some fair points for sure, I hoped that mentioning the limited nature of the collaboration would help clarify the bag wouldn’t be available on the official site, but I definitely could have made that more clear. My Hope with the video was that people who were curious about the bag might have a chance to see what it’s like and see what the hype is about and although it’s different from the normal evade, hopefully people still find some value in seeing how much the bag can hold, how the harness system and organization work and some general thoughts on the weight of the bag :)
