I’m seeing a lot of people complaining about the player’s height but I feel like it makes the game more immersive. Not only is the ship just designed with lower ceilings/smaller spaces (as most ships were in the 1900s) it really gives the game a more claustrophobic feeling knowing that you’re in a very tight enclosed space at all times.

What I understood is that the protagonist/player killed his platoon in a war (maybe the WW1, but the Titanic's sinking was before that, so idk) for reasons I still don't know. My theory is that, based on what we see at 8:59, the monster that chases the player is one of the soldiers from your platoon that you killed, who was deformed and brought back to life by unknown ways, but also developed animalistic characteristics. It also says that he should "return to the state of deceased on night before return to the mainland", but that seems to not have happened and he's probably being transported in the ship you're in and now wants revenge. The fact that the ship is sinking and the apparently supernatural things that happen like in 6:56 can be explained by an accident or sabotage and PTSD respectively, but one thing that was much more explicit in the alpha version of this game is that the protagonist is actually in Hell paying for his sins because he killed his entire platoon. Theory: All of this is actually just a nightmare caused by PTSD [Spoilers] Edit: I say this because "Daddy, why did YOU kill your platoon?" and lots of talk of war. The monster comes from a story told on the battlefield. Edit2: Also, the main character might have been the result of the Second Life Act. All the paintings show disfigured faces. Alternatively, the monster is the result. Edit3: "He has escaped the grave. He will not escape those he left to rot. We're always behind you. Just watch." I'd say this confirms the main character theory.

Yeah... it's a little obvious where this is going. The "twist" is probably going to be that he's metaphorically sorting out his guilt from the war. The only question is whether he is dead and this is purgatory, or if it's all metaphorical in his head or a dream, or whatever (it'll probably be ambiguous anyway). The execution is great, the game looks good and I love the creative setting but I really hope it isn't just Silent Hill 2 again. Horror games need some new stories to tell.

Working on a ship for a living I'd say it's really not too far from being accurate. Nowadays the spaces and peeways are taller but still not by too much after 5'10" your hitting your head on pipes and wires somewhat regularly except for in the main spaces and peeways. I'm sure back then it was much worse.
