those old GT's just never want to die huh. although from what I hear XPG is making an abomination of them and tarnishing the name with grinding noises and other bad quality control issues. the fan noise thing is also why I love the bigger caselab cases like the SMA8 for what you'd probably say is a very overkill amount of radiator (480 top for cpu, 560 and 280 in basement for video card, separate loops, D5 pumps ~2550rpm, Alphacool 45mm thick, only push fan orientation) but it lets me run all the fans at 1000 and 1200ish for a very quiet system with a mix of Phanteks t30s on top rad (1000rpm for games and non 100% cpu load cause 1200 on top rad was making slight buzzing noise), Noctua 3 front and 1 rear, and Arctic p14's ~1200ish rpm on bottom rads. its not completely silent but still very gentle and low pitch sounding quiet system with the gpu at 37-50c depending on what 300 to 500+ watt power limit I set in msi afterburner. but anyway thanks for continuing to be one of the true water-cooling guys that isn't giving into trends and brands that hurt performance.

Save the money and go for the arctic p12 max. Keep up the great work dasz.

Why don't you use the Phanteks T30 for better static pressure, and stay on the Gentle Typhoon? They can be fixed at 1200 RPM and then they are silent

I like the white noise APEX produces, and I am not concerned about the extra degree I lost.

Interesting to hear the Apex in comparison. The Noctuas a bit boomy like in ship Engine Room. GT were like lot of white noise, Apex like cruising at 30,000. At least to me. Quite liked the Apex too.

Just installed three APEX fans from old GTs I had. Very happy so far with not an invasive sound.
