AMAZING Q&A! For extra questions, join me at muscularstrength.com/AlphaDestinyFree 0:04 What are good strength standards for a 15 year old? 1:06 If I bench 265 pounds squat 330 and deadlift 405 what I should I focus on? I’m 17 and 145 pounds at 5’8 training for like 2 years but took 5 months off over the two years...linear progression is still working. 2:25 What do you think about straps for novices? 3:18 If you get stronger on Pendlay row and stiff leg deadlifts would my deadlift go up without training it? 4:17 In your honest opinion do you think limb dominace is better then torso dominace or vise versa ? 5:18 Do you have to follow a program to make gains? If you just focus on your weaknesses u must still make gains right? 6:25 Are you familiar with the cube method by Brandon Lilly? If yes, what do you think of it? 7:17 Do you think the 1000lb club is a good indicator for intermediate stage? My deadlift is my weakest being only 365, but I'm still in the 1000lb club. Any thoughts? 8:14 Hey Alex, should you lock out at the bottom of a chinup/pullup if you have hypermobile elbows? 9:05 Do you think it's possible to build a good physique by doing incline bench, bent over rows and RDLs? While being able to progress to a maximum weight of 60 kgs? 10:53 Alex. I do strongman conditioning for my GPP. I just bear hug heavy dumbbells and walk back and forth. Is it possible that carry too heavy? I do get a great cardio workout from it however he next day my Lats and forearms are on fire. 12:13 I get good results combining volume and intensity in the same workout instead of doing it on different days. Thoughts? I do P-P-L 14:39 Hey Alex if I ditch the regular barbell squat for front squat do I miss on much? Or would I need to incorporate more movements to compensate? 16:21 6’4” and rack pulls above the knee feels a LOT better than deadlifts. Can I just do rack pulls for back strength or do I need deadlifts? I’m way too tall for conventional to feel comfortable. 18:08 Hey Alex what would be a minimal amount of arm wrestling training you could do a week so that you could beat 99percent of people exception for people who primarily train in an arm wrestling fashion 19:11 Best way to effectively progress on flat bench without using bands or strange techniques? 21:09 Do thick forearms and wrists help with keeping tight on a heavy bench? 21:30 What’s your opinion on Kinobody’s 3 day week training program and interment fasting? 23:00 Hey Alex, when using bands everyday (connective tissue work?) e.g curls and pushdowns every day for muscle growth and/or recovery, how do I know which strength of bands to purchase and would I use the same ones for growth/recovery work (high reps?) 24:18 I only have 300lbs at my home gym and I just Deadlifted that today for 1RM , how can I still do deadlifts 25:22 Hey Alex, if I recall you expressed a negative attitude towards upper/lower splits. Regardless if I'm mistaken or not, I'd like to hear your opinion on them. Are they effective? 26:24 I know you do not like 10x10 unless you’re intermediate/advanced, but what do you think about heavy, low reps (3x3, 5x1) for the intensity session? 27:42 I want to get some resistance bands, but I don’t know which brand should I buy, I only want it for shoulder and ankle mobility

Thank you bro I’ve been training for 1 year or so I used to train for 7 days a week for an hour.You know the casual bro split.Now I do full body 3 times a week.Am 16 now.My deadlift is 205lbs and sumo is 215lbs I can go heavier but I haven’t tried it yet.My squat is 185 for reps, I can do 195lbs for 1 rep when I hype myself up but my max for reps is 190lbs for squat.My bench sucks ass I don’t like the movement, but I can do 125lbs for 4 x 5.But my incline dumbbell press is 100lbs, you know 50 lbs in each hand.I love the movement a good ass stretch.Am 145lbs.I don’t really know if this is good for a teenager like me.But I want to get stronger and when am older leaner.

@cosmicalian
@cosmicalian 6 жыл бұрын
Push your numbers on bench and squat. Pull ups and shoulder press are secondary lifts. His shoulders are his best body part and in a video from a couple months back he did 30 lb lateral raises with no swing. Aim to get that as well.Even though he deadlifts a lot, the squat should be the primary goal for quads and glutes

Traevarn Ryland at our age doing anything once we are using progressive overload will lead to gains. The only question is how optimal it is. If you don't enjoy a strict programme and you are making gains without burning yourself out by all means do your thing. I occasionally wait too long before upping the weight so just make sure you are auto regulating carefully.

Hi Alex, I perform neck work 3x per week, but have found the movement for neck curls to be far easier than neck extensions. Q&A Question: Yoo Alex!! Thanks to your NE program, I can now bench 245lbs from 185lbs, Squat 300lbs from 255lbs and Deadlift (Trapbar) 405lbs from 355lbs. I train by doing full body twice a week with 2-3 times a week of home workouts while rotating variations/movements every 3 weeks. I'm actually planning on competing in my first powerlifting meet next year in April. As I train for it, should I just stick to my current twice a week training? Or do you recommend upper/lower split? I'm hesitant on the upper/lower split because of the GPP scheduling.

Hey Alex, how can I get my deadlift stronger? I’ve been lifting for about a year and a half and It seems to be my slowest progressing lift as of the past few months. I train nearly everyday with a slit of, legs, biceps/back, and chest/triceps/shoulders and no signs of over training. I’ve been stuck on 405 for the past three months while my squat and bench have increased from 350-365 and 225-235 using the 5-3-1 method. Thanks for the awesome content
@maia3420
@maia3420 6 жыл бұрын
Relatively speaking your deadlift is your strongest so I wouldn't worry. My numbers were almost identical to yours 11 months ago. 235 2 rep Max bench, 315 1 rep Max squat and a beltless 405 deadlift. What I've done is focused on heavy squats and volume bench an and upper body in general. My squat is almost at 405 now an my bench is rapidly surging into 275-285 range even though I took a 6 month+ break from squats and almost no heavy bench days. Your deadlift while rusty will benefit massively from adding 80-100 lb to your squat an cranking out some rows an pull ups.

What do you think about training back and legs (the big muscle groups) on Monday and Thursday and training Chest, Shoulders, Arms and Neck (the small muscle groups) on Tuesday and Thursday. I prefer the recovery with this system over the traditional upper/lower system because Deadlifts are more back than legs in my opinion. Also, you can't do any bent over barbell rows, t bar rows, meadows rows etc on your upper day if you have hamstring/lower back DOMS from the day before. I got the idea for this system from George Leeman who would do all his Deadlift accessory work in one session, essentially back and legs.
@giovanniquargentan6198
@giovanniquargentan6198 6 жыл бұрын
I do upper/lower, for the back all I do is pretty much pull-ups and seated cable rows. 0 legs implication in these movements. Also I find my back to recover much faster than the rest of my body (I remember Alex also saying this, not so long ago), so even if in the lower day I hit traps and lats because of pulls, I don't have any problem the next upper day. And always do static stretching right finished your workout, it helps a lot in getting rid of lactic acid Just my 2 cents 😎

whats your take on scotthermanfitness saying dumbells are better for chest growth then the bench press and how much should my dumbell bench differ from the barbell bench
@marshallore6869
@marshallore6869 6 жыл бұрын
The decline bench press is the best chest builder of all time, based on the anatomical angles. It works more upper chest too. But it's easiest to tear a pec on. Dorian Yates pointed this out to me. Think about it. Decline is max pecs, least delts and OHP is max delts, least pecs.
@non9886
@non9886 6 жыл бұрын
it is true but not absolut. all this depends a lot on the size of your rip cage. if you have bulged rip cage flat bench become decline. that's why a lot of people can build huge pecs but lacking of upper chest. i have quite bulged rip cage too and that's why i stay away (almost) from flat bench because it builds a lot lower chest and can cause some "bitch tits" which i don't like (not talking about decline). i finally realized quite recently than some kind of steve reaves' chest is optimal for recreational lifters. and as for as lower chest i prefer dips which are imho better from more reasons and are better for outter part of chest too...
@Bowfella
@Bowfella 6 жыл бұрын
@@marshallore6869 Not true at all. Decline may have a better contraction but a MUCH smaller ROM. I knew people that could bench 225 on decline but could barely get 200 for one on flat bench. Not to mention it internally rotates your shoulders while having your scapula pinned against the bench which is terrible. Sure dips aren't the best for your shoulders but you can shrug at the bottom to eliviate stress on your shoulders and your scapula is free to move. On top of that you get a better stretch on the lower chest with the dip.
