Nice review. I cannot agree more with you regarding the placement of the safety. Sorry putting the safety inside the trigger guard is reckless and dangerous. I usually avoid any rifles with it in this location. this might be the exception.

Well, I use my air rifles for hunting and pest control and would not shoot live quarry at 50 metres with a sub 12 ft lbs rifle anyway. Thanks for watching. 30 metres is a more realistic distance for most shooters/hunters.

I'm knew to the sport...I find your videos extremely helpful. Clear and consise presentation that makes it easy to understand the review. I'm looking to add a pcp to my HW97 Springer and would consider this as I like the design and the shot capacity per fill. I target shoot only. Do you feel this would be a good buy?

Another good, comprehensive review Richard. Is the Safari basically the Sniper XR with a different stock? Sniper XRs are now being shipped with the new magazine/pellet probe

Excellent gun , got the sniper H R and that's brilliant , and this is a step forward , superb review .. Ps Is the new style magazine suitable for the old style bantam ? As the revere does with older daystates

Thanks Mark. Unfortunately the magazines are not compatible as the probe is different. If you're brave though you can modify the probe with a dremmel - I did four this afternoon! There's a raised section on top of the probe right at the back that you will need to remove.

@@alphamilitaria2756 Sadly , im not brave enough to do this modification , nevertheless , who's to say I wont add the safari to my collection , aint been anywhere or spent anything the last god knows how many months coz of this lockdown shit , ok you can go online and buy ( kinda click and collect ) but theres no substitute for a GOOD OLD MOOCH around an RFD .. got a few bob put aside for the time we're out of house arrest .. so , who knows

Hi. Around 150 bar. Unless you really know what you're doing, I'd suggest having a gunsmith take a look. Also, its likely you'd invalidate any warranty if you do the work yourself.

Hi Deepak. At 12 ft. lbs. the effective hunting range of any .177 rifle is 40 metres. People will tell you how they have knocked pigeons off a branch at 70, 80, 90 metres but they're either lying or got a lucky shot. High power rifles are capable of stretching the range but.177 tend to max out at about 20 ft lbs. At velocities greater than 950/1000 fps pellets become unstable and less accurate. Slugs are more stable but again 950/1000 fps seems to be a sweet spot. Shooting slugs through 12 ft lbs rifles is becoming a thing, but frankly I can't see much of an advantage. If you go for 12 ft lbs .177 the best thing is to work on your field craft and get a little closer . After all, that's the fun part!

Hi. Both are great, accurate rifles that are lovely to shoot, well made and finished to a high standard. On balance I think I'd have the Brocock because the stock is more adjustable, but I wouldn't be disappointed if I bought the Wildcat instead. If you're torn between the two try, if you can, to pick both up and shoulder them.

The shroud does an excedllent job of reducing muzzle crack. I'd happily hunt with it without a silencer.

Think this rrp is 1400 /1500 ? Fx crown is 1300/1400 ..knowing that ,is this worth the extra money? Or is a fx crown a superior product ? I do love the look of this I must say ,but I also like the look of the fx crown green lam stock..help me decide someone please lol 😆

Hi Mark. The Crown is a great rifle too. To be honest, there's not a lot between them in terms of performance. It really comes down to which one takes your fancy. If you can, try shouldering them both, and any others you like the look of. I'm sure you'll find yourself drawn to the one that is right for you. Thanks for watching.

So people had something to criticise. To be honest, the shroud on the Safari XR is one of the very few that make an appreciable difference to be honest, and I'd have no qualms about using it for hunting without a silencer. A silencer will of course make it quieter still. Thanks for watching.

In all honesty Carl, the sidelever is extremely smooth and easy to operate, its unlikely you would double load unless you'd already forgotten you had a loaded rifle in which case you probably shouldn't be allowed one anyway :) . The HW100 is a cracking rifle though!

this is becoming more of a choice here in the USA!i use to walk down town and to the river,with my 22 or 12 gauge back when i was 16 in the early 80,s and nobody would think anything but."he must be going pheasant hunting or to get some cotton tail rabbits"! every kid that hunted or was 16 would bring there guns to my school and go road hunting for pheasants after school, school shootings never happened back then because kids new guns where around! its only since they made these schools gun free, that the slaughters started??Anyone that does something like that,! will pick a place that is gun free! dumb politicians.. The big gun grab is going to happen in the usa or they will try for sure.. PCP,s for me and a .30 fx that shoots lights out at 100 yard with hybrid slugs,i like watching Utah air shooting ground squirrels at over 200 yards regularly on you-tube...good video to inform poeple around the world.

12 ft lbs is the limit for PCP and spring air rifles for which no license is required in the UK. Much more powerful air rifles can be purchased with a firearms certificate, which is obtained after appropriate checks, including criminal past, health and mental health. Fortunately as a result, nut jobs going mad in public over here are very, very rare. In addition, the 12 ft. lbs. limit means hunters have to develop a competence for bush craft and field craft to stalk within range of quarry species. And that's a lot harder, and more rewarding, than blasting away whilst sat in a chair from long range. Thanks for watching!
