This is what I said. She can't get with a new guy and turn to Jake for comfort. The new guy wants to be that comfort so it just won't work. How are they going yo build up if she cant let go of jakes hand and find those traits in someone else? And her calling him about everything literally will ruin a relationship even if the guy IS SECURE, because she should be turning to her man for the love trust and comfort she gives and grts from Jake. And then Jake is basically doomed with a gf from the start because of his relationship with Tara. Even if the girl is completely secure with herself she isn't gonna want Tata calling her man for everything that she can't face alone, or making him drive to go help her with something so small. Or the constant phone calls. .doesn't matter how secure you are, there are some things you just DONT tolerate in a relationship. Being friends is one thing. But being 100% in a CODEPENDENT RELATIONSHIP is another. They both need to kinda move on in a way. It's like they never actually let go of each other the only difference in their relationship at all is they don't kisd and have sex. Bug they still stay the night together sleep in the same bed and do al the other things relationships do.. And yeah Tara says Insecurity and jealousy is ugly and she doesn't like it. Well good for her. But she is young and hasn't had alot of the life experiences the majority of us have had. From what it sounds like or she would have a different perspective. She has a ton of growing up to do... I love her. But she's definitely young and has lessons to get through.

23:42 Personally, she looks sad, we don’t know the reason, but him speaking about this definitely stroked a cord of sadness and nostalgia within her, from the way she leans in to show she is actually deeply touched and thoughtful to the conversation but also her gazing at him. It shows that she used to love him a lot romantically and that she is bitter sweet about it now but still happy that they are now friends. I also think we can also see her drinking the orange juice or whatever it is because she feels vulnerable and doesn’t want to feel like she is being emotional, i do that i drink water… we don’t know what she was feeling or thinking but to me i think this part summarizes well her emotions for him, his emotions for her and what great relationship they used to have that ended with this wonderful friendship :)

As a older lady of almost 51, I love to watch these 2 together. They have something special that is bigger than this time and space. They look at each other like my Grandparents did until they passed away exactly a month apart after 50plus years together. When I asked them for their secret to their long love affair, they both laughed and said they married their best friend and my Grandmother said, it didn't hurt that grandpa was in the Navy and she was able to really miss him for almost 15 to 20 years of that marriage,they had 6 children in that time frame as soon as he got off the ship she was pregnant by the time he went back out to sea. Until they made the decision to stop having kids and she went on birth control, a big thing for them as they were Catholic and her last child was in her late 30s. Jake and Tara reminded me of the Notebook and a love that transends time and is forever.

I definitely think Jake wanted to break up to experience being with other people and being single in his 20s and Tara went along with it because she truly loves him. BUT I do think it was a good thing for both because they’ve been able to flourish and find themselves and really enjoy life m, Tara’s success has skyrocketed since the break up and overall I think it was the healthiest thing for them :)

Tara and Jake are good examples of how a spoken ending doesn’t have to be the end of the good that two souls have had together, just the end of a dynamic. And it’s okay! They both opened my eyes to how there can be boundaries without compromising their own happiness and friendship, especially if it was the foundation was built as best friends. I love how they always speak so highly of each other and you can see their love for each other comes from such a pure place. And jake giving it all to tara was just the sweetest thing. I love hearing Jake speak outside of his usual goofiness. he articulates himself so well and clearly, and he's so thoughtful with his words. His anxieties and insecurities of being misinterpreted due to his autism is so relatable. I really hope he knows he isnt alone in how he feels. I think because they didn't have any jealousy in their past relationship, you can see it in so many old videos. especially with dating for so long in their early twenties they expect that same sense of security they're used to from others. Jake might get it out of his system, and want to get back together with her in the future, though. Who knows. Personally, I think Jake's hair suits him perfectly as is--the color and the style. And I usually prefer blondes, but both he (and his roommate, Johnnie) look great with black hair.
