Mt. Everest IS the highest mountain, but it’s not the tallest. Those words aren’t interchangeable.
@FastEddy195911 ай бұрын
Actually, it depends on how you define “highest”. Everest’s peak is farthest above “sea level” but, since the Earth is not a perfect sphere there is a number of other peaks that are farther from the center of the Earth.
@Scootermagoo10 ай бұрын
Actually technically everest is the third highest, Everest is the highest from sea level, hawaii is the highest physically from the base and chimborazu in equador is the highest from the center of the earth. So being third best is pretty good given the company.
@NBGUYVER9 ай бұрын
Makes sense. The highest refers to elevation on earth. Tallest refers to height from base to tip
@childresshouse9 ай бұрын
Doesn't everest eventually reach the sea floor too. So are we measuring what we see or from the sea floor. They all eventually reach the deepest place on earth.
@Scootermagoo9 ай бұрын
@@childresshouse read what I said, everest is the highest above sea level, mauno loa is the highest from base and chimborazu is the highest from the center of the earth because of planetary bulge due to the 1000mph rotational speed of the planet at the equator. So I'm not sure what you do not understand. Also everest has no part of it touching the ocean it's like 2500 miles from the indian ocean in the nw corner of the Himalaya's.

Pepperidge Farms in particular gives their products a very short shelf life so consumers always get a fresher product than all their competitors. 3 months for most cookies and crackers and 3 or 4 days for bread.. It mainly matters for when they ship to overseas USA bases as the products arrive expired and have to be tested by military food inspectors to certify suitability for consumption. (I was one). The amount of sugar or salt in those products would keep them from going bad much longer.

When you use a waterhose to create a rainbow while standing on a roof (or any other tall structure and you create the rainbow between you and the ground), it's also in a circle. Mana Kea isn't off the coast of Hawaii, it is part of the Island of Hawaii. Kilauea, Hualalai, Kohala, Mauna Loa, and Mauna Kea are the volcanic mountains that make up the Big Island of Hawaii. Hawaii refers to a Kingdom, a state, and archipelago, all made of several Islands (more than 100), it is also an individual island, and a county. Off the southeast coast of Hawaii Island is Kamaʻehuakanaloa Seamount (formally Loihi) which is still submersed below the waves by 975 m. Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea, and Haleakala (Maui) should all be taller than Mount Everest when measured from the base.

Which is too bad, because he completely botched the Mt. Everest entry. Mt. Everest is still the highest point on the surface of the earth. No one has ever claimed it's the tallest mountain from base to peak. It's not really even that tall from those metrics. Denali and Kilimanjaro are both much taller from base to peak. So if we're going to be technical about anything, it should be that there are two methods of defining mountain height, and Everest is only tallest according to the most commonly used one.

I lived in Dublin for most of the 70’s. We spent St. Pat’s day by going to Mass in the morning, buying some shamrock from the little old lady outside the church, then going for a ride in the Wicklow mountains, stopping for lunch, often in the garden of a nice pub, it being early spring. In the evening, we would go to a pub where there was good music. We never went to the, then, small parade. That was for tourists.

Patrick was a member of the Celtic culdee church. From his surviving writings, we can deduce that his beliefs were Bible centred. There is no evidence that he took part in a mass. In fact, the Celtic church was far removed from the errors of Rome.

Rice actually is a factor is removing liquid from cell phone, iPads and the like, but not as most think. You cannot use long or short grain rice, as they do put off far too much dust and will damage the circuitry. Instead make you use ‘Sticky’, Asian Rice, I have great success with Korean Rice. Then put it in a food sealer, I use a FoodSaver®️. Step 1: I make a bag. Step2: Fill it about 2/3 of way with the ‘Sticky’ Rice. Step 3: Lay the bag of ‘Sticky’ Rice on its side. Step 4: Insert the iPhone (my model, though friends have used various other models) in to the bag, in the rice with the ports facing the opening of the bag. Step 5: Insert the bag into the FoodSaver®️. Step 6: Start the cycle and let it run. Step 7: Set the bag aside for 6-8 hours. Occasionally, the process must be repeated. The success rate has been 100% for me and all those whom I know that have used this method.

The "cellphone in rice" actually does work. At least it did for me. Back in July of 2013, I was in my bass boat out on the lake one day and accidentally left the rear live well aeration pump on and it overflowed into the "glovebox" between the two seats. Which is where I kept my iPhone 4 that day. When I went to check the time and for missed calls/texts, I realized my phone was under about 5" of water. I quickly removed it, and quickly wrapped it tightly in a towel. I did not push any buttons or the screen bcuz I knew that any touch "command would cause an electrical charge to flow and probably result in shorting out the board and frying the circuitry. I got back to my apartment about 2 hrs later (4;30p), stuffed it down deep into a half-full box of rice, and left it there until I got up the next morning around 7a to go to work. Before I left, I put it on the charger until I got home later on that day. When I got home, I tried to turn it on and low and behold it powered up. The only lasting sign it had been submersed was the camera was looked a little bit cloudy but overall it was fine. The cloudiness went away 3 days later. The reason I was so desperate to save the phone was because it was my g/f's that she gave to me because I wanted another iPhone after my 3GS was stolen, and she wanted to upgrade to a Samsung Galaxy S3. She passed away two weeks prior to this incident and my phone had a lot of pictures of me and her together. So, to me, I felt since I couldn't save her, I HAD to save that phone. Man, grief makes you rationalize things in some strange, inexplicable ways sometimes.

Know what's dirtier then a toilet seat? Money.. circulates for Years, gets sweated on a lot, dropped in everything, stuffed in areas, ledt in shoes or socks, sometimes underwear, pees on... Yet people will just put ut in their mouth sometimes like nothing.. which actually is also gross. But toilet seats rarely actually get cleaned properly even close to once a day, the toilet bowl may get cleaned more often but a lot of people skip the seat unless it's visibly a mess

@@bkThund3r No. Christianity was the first church, Catholicism came second and Protestantism third. Protestantism tells us what it is in its name: it was a protest against the theology and authoritarianism of the Roman Catholic Church. The closest we have gotten to the early church is when Pentecostalism first started after the Azusa Street Revivals (1906-1915). The churches were independent house meetings which stressed fellowship, Bible study, and worship over ritual and routine, exactly what the early church did. Unfortunately, those churches were the forebears of the evangelical megachurches that are ruining Christianity now.

If you drop your phone in water, keep it still and do not move it around a lot, if there is standing water in the phone that has not damaged the mother board yet and you move the phone around a lot, in and out of your pocket, the water will move around and eventually damage the motherboard. The Spanish flu was called that because Spain was the only country that the media couldn't be controlled so when they reported it in their news, people jumped to the most logical conclusion . In fact it was first noticed in Chinese laborers that were shipped across Canada to work in the war effort . When they opened the boxcars many were sick or dying , they shipped the live ones . I don't know but I'll bet they originated in the same area that gave us the black death and cvid . They had so many deaths once it got going that they couldn't allow the enemy to find out their weakness , war correspondents were forbidden to report on it . Very interesting story if you want to dig a little .

Who thought soft water was better to drink? People have water softeners put in their homes mostly to cut down on hard water deposits on taps and also because it helps cleaning products be more "sudsy". It feels nicer to bathe in as well. If installed correctly, however, the soft water will not be run through the tap most likely to be used for drinking water for exactly the reason stated in the video. Hard water is better for you because you are getting the minerals from it that your body needs. Besides, truly clean water tastes terrible.

The “Spanish” flu actually originated in MidWestern USA. It was a form of bird flu, transmitted from wild birds, like ducks, to domesticated ducks, to human handlers. The human handlers ie young male farm hands, enlisted in the army and went to boot camp i; the eastern and southern States. Where the initial fever and contagion established itself. Then, they shipped out to the European theatre of war. The deaths began during the initial transfer, but intensified during trench warfare and passed to the general public during hospitalisation and general leave. The Spanish flu was American.
