It honestly is possible, you just need to really focus on how each area is and figure out what is a route and what is the same area. Though doing the pokedex is a reasonable thing to do if you know what you are doing for a nuzlocke.

I’ve always done it but allowed separate evolution lines of the same species , so you could have a dustox and a beautifly , or a vaporeon and an espeon , or alolan nine tails and nine tails , or different orichorio forms ect . Also my dups kicks in when you encounter the Pokémon , not just when you catch it , which I was surprised to learn is different from other peoples nuzlockes

I think the lure/shiny situations are legit. In the Safari Game, you lure pokemon using Bait before catching them, and those count. And even if it's a Shiny that you can forcibly spawn, a Shiny is still a Shiny.

Remember when I fought volo at spear pillar: surprisingly, the famed giratina was actually really easy. Like it flat out missed every attack it tried hitting my luxray with and got flinched by crunch before it could try another. I have no idea if it was because of all the grit dust I gave my luxray from whenever I just ran around, or cause I got extremely lucky, but either way that was really Funny.
