Like if wallace use ice attacks to take out your grass user and use wishcash on your electric. In more recent games it is probably not as big of an issue as you have a lot of pokemon learning moves of other types. If you want to know the pain of monotype I'd advise trying pokemon reborn. I have never been more afraid of a cradlily in my life.

The odds of it happening with a full team of 6 is about 1/10923, which usually means that the majority of players have never actually seen it. So for it to happen on stream during a race is absurdly lucky

I had this exact same idea recently without having seen this video only instead of a draft, each Pokémon caught locks it out from being caught by anybody else, and at the end, have a tournament with your seed being based on how quickly you beat the E4. Would be crazy

Okay but real talk, during this stream I was switching back and forth between Jacob and Jaiden. Jacob had his glorious icarus moments, and then Jaiden going back and forth with Yaki was absolutely delightful, I loved their combo of casual conversation and high stress panic when they were getting into tough situations.

I LOVE the Zelda Skyward Sword music over this (this was the music that played while Link was flying on the loftwing around the sky)! Adding a race to a Nuzlocke is a great way to amp up the challenge. In a lot of them, if you plan around a handful of encounters you can usually rely on grinding to handle a lot of battles, but without the ability to just grind your way into overleveling everyone, it makes your choices really carry a lot of weight.

I'd love to see another Draftlocke some day, but with one more twist from a Gen 1 co-op "catch em all" charity stream I saw a long time ago: Set a timer for a set interval. When the timer goes off everybody has to meet in the pokemon center to battle. (That was the extent of how it worked in the stream.) If I had to envision how it would work, the matchups would be 1 on 1 and randomized. It would be like a "bring your team but chose 3" kind of deal. Whoever loses, one of the 3 pokemon they picked is now dead. I figure it would be an interesting way to raise the stakes even further xD
