Check the fuse you tapped into and check the connections on the lights. Most of the time not getting power from the tap to trigger the relay is the problem. If that douse this work, call the AlphaRex guys. They have good customer service

Hi!, I just bought the pro series( I'm poor:D) But, I was wondering about the DRL harness... Does that just make it so the DRLs come on during the day too, rather than ONLY at night. if I disregard that harness? Thanks!

The DRL a harness is to make the DRL lights brighter. Without the harness, the stock connection cannot power the whole DRL planks at full brightness. So you need the harness to brighten them up.

Yes, your going to need a fuse tap that matches the fuses on your truck. I think the lights will come with a vehicle specific fuse. but keep in mind that Ford use 2 types of fuses. try and tap into a fuse that matches the provided fuse tap.

William Rhodes for the F150 they are direct plug and play. For the Raptor they are providing a harness with the lights. I was in the process of testing the lights for them on my old Raptor before the accident and hope to have a install video of that testing on the website soon.

Check out my updated video where we put these lights on the Raptor. Even though the adjuster is on the back, its accessibly and adjustable from the top using a Phillips head screwdriver. Made it super easy. High beams are a little tougher and get adjusted from below. But still able to adjust without removing from the truck

Javier Rivera all fuse taps need 2 fuses. One for the circuit being tapped (you get this one off the fuse panel) and a 2nd fuse for the accessories being added. AX lights have very little draw and you can use anything from a 5-10amp fuse because the circuit is only used to detect when the truck is on.

For some reason I can’t get my DRL to show while in drive but the LED strip works just fine when cutting the truck on and at night but during the day only the low beams come on and the strip. I have the harness connected I’m not sure if I did anything wrong or not. Do I just use fuse 10 on fuse tap in location #97?

So let’s first confirm what you mean by DRLs. On the stock Raptor lights, DRLs are the low beams and the planks (amber turn signals). On an F150 is varies but they don’t have planks. With these lights on, the only DRLs are the planks in white. Low beams on the Raptor will not turn on as DRLs until you turn them on at night. The fuse tap makes those planks brighter. That’s it. Which ones are not powering up?

Which version do you have? Black, jet black, chrome, or Alphas? Planks on the original ones are dim and they are on but you probably can’t tell. The ones with the clear planks are much brighter and easier to spot during the day. If you not getting the planks as DRLs, call AlphaRex and see if they can help you troubleshoot. It could be cabling or something needs to be replaced

Yes. When it comes time to order you make sure you select that your truck had LEDs or you pick the raptor option since they all come with LEDs. There is a different harness for those trucks and you will need a turn signal bulb. Check our raptor install video as the process to put in your truck will be the same.

You may have to play with the orientation a bit, but it should fit and route the cable out of the back of the fuse box.

I have a question i have the nova led set for the f-150 (not raptor) they work great but since I have the automatic lights but when I drive only one side of my low beams works but when I switch the lights just to on they work great I wonder if you have any ideas for what’s happening with that?

I have not heard about this one. I would recommend getting a hold of AlphaRex Support number on-line. They have great customer service. Just be ready to show them pics on how the lights are wired so they can confirm everything is installed correctly. If they find everything is installed correctly and still happening they are great about replacing the light quick.

Ok so update so it was doing that between 5 and 7 which there’s pretty good amount of light so when it got darker the second light came on so it worked when I was in the automatic light mode it’s just mind blowing to me but I’ll call and see what they say

patrick Salazar I recently helped someone else with this issue as well i think. Go into your driver info screen and turn your DRL option off. You'll still get the DRL planks on the sides to light up, but it did fix the issue on another truck. Let us know if that helps.

Can these be easily adjusted once they're fully installed? I'm considering the AlphaRex Nova for my 2020 F150. I plan on installing a leveling kit, so headlight adjustment would likely be required.

Yes they can. The top light adjustment is similar to stock but with a more pronounced wheel that easier to adjust. The stock headlights only have a single adjustment. The alpha Rex have a separate adjustments for the hi beams so you can better fine tune the beams. That is a little more difficult to access as you have to go in from under the headlights. on the Raptor it's a simple process to reach under there. on a regular f150 I sure the aero bumpers will make reaching in a little more difficult.

Installed these. My remote start isn’t working and my check engine light is on have connect my MAF sensors by the grille. I did turn my truck on to make sure all lights were good how can reset code?

Headlights don’t cause CEL codes. If you used the fuse tap for the brighter LEDs, make sure the connection is seated right and pushed in all the way. Otherwise you have another unrelated problem here. Not sure what you mean by the MAF sensor either

I just installed the pro series and added led bulbs and it has thrown a bunch of check engine light codes. Any advice on a fix to clear the codes? Everything seems to be working as they should.

Tyler Osborn if your getting codes you only option is to Forescan. You just need an OBD2 port that will work for your truck and a PC based laptop. We plan on doing a video on it sometime in the future when upgrading to LED bulbs

Just got mine today, installing shortly. Coming from Anzo switchback projectors - my DRL is controlled through Forscan updates. Would I still need the add a fuse circuit? Not many people have installed these apparently, there’s nothing on the message boards.

To have the DRLs on during the day, yes you do need the fuse circuit. Otherwise they are only on when the markers are on. Alpha Rex went the low tech way because some base model trucks don’t have the DRL functionality or wiring

Keep It Dirty Off-Road - my current halos are on via Forscan with my fog lights. That’s why I don’t think I’ll need the wire. I’ll obviously try it before I completely bolt things back together.

@@MikeTH1S From the testing we did during the installation, the DRL planks can get their power from 2 sources. 1. The Additional wired relay, 2. From the Marker light plug. If the Forescan config change makes the Marker Light plug hot at all times then it could work. Please let me know how it turns out and We will do an update video with the Forescan details if you don't mind helping us out with the details on how to configure it.

Tyler Zahn they don’t. You need to get a Micro2 add a circuit to wire up the DRL harness. Recommend ordering the add a circuit online as most auto parts stores don’t carry them.

So far they have held up great. Had them a few years without issue even with off-roading. Now we have heard some have issues so they are not completely bullet proof. But our experience so far has been great.

If I’m using an LED bulb for turn signals do I need a resistor for hyper flashing?

These headlights won’t change the way the turn signal flashers work since it uses the factory plug with a 3party bulb for it. If you want hyper flashing then yes you will need it. But if you don’t, as long as the LED bulb you use is properly made, it will work right without any errors. In our install we used LASFIT LED bulbs. Very bright and perfectly compliment the AlphaRex headlights.

I think Jason got them from Rappy Graphics. Since this is an aftermarket grill the dimensions are slightly different so you need to let him know ahead of time before ordering.

Custom made at a graphics place out by me. Took the guy a while to get the dimensions right because the "dood" grille lettering is pretty different from the actual raptor grille lettering.

Nathan Byrne the hole was needed on the new headlight to put that last push pin into place. On newer lights like the one we got for my Raptor, had the hole pre-drilled

Marco&Ethan Dasilva get the tapped fuse from the fuse panel and put it in the front. Then get a new fuse for the lights and put it in the back. Not actually drawing any power mainly looking for an on and off state so you can use anything from a 5-15amp fuse

That’s correct, no error codes and not programming required. That applies to the platinums and Raptors too with the LED headlights.

Rob lenox you need to check with the manufacturer man. The AlphaRex harness is designed for the AlphaRex lights only. Will not work on other lights.

That’s the cool part of these lights. DRL planks are white. But when you hit the turn signals, the planks change to a sequential Amber turn signal. We will be posting a side by side comparison video with my Raptor so you can see the difference so keep and eye out.

Just checked the site and the Nova series are still there for the 2015-2017 F150 and 2017-2020 raptors🤷‍♂️. You may be looking at the luxx series. Those reuse you halogen bulbs. These lights are incredible! I put them in my 2015 f150 and people flash their lights at me all the time! Its all good because I turn on my brights and drown their brights out bigtime! Don't bother me a bit! Thanks Alpharex!

Quick little story..i followed this video and made a critical error that wasn't really specifically called out here. When connecting to the fuse box with the jumper cable for the DRL you need to put two fuses in the jumper cable.. Not just the one you take out of slot 97. I didn't put two fuses in the jumper. While the DRLs worked, the headlights worked, the truck was throwing several codes. Later while sitting in my truck with the engine on running idle, it starts to over heat.i take it to the dealership and $300 later they tell me about the fuse. Now i can see it in this video when i look close enough and this was my fault. But dude... If the consequences of missing that one particular step of adding two fuses is your engine might over heat, maybe foot stomp it as "hey don't forget this very critical step" not just.. Oh, put this fuse in here.. Following your instructions nearly cost me an engine/a whole new truck. So viewer beware, while this guy technically did show what needed to be done the need to replay you video 5 times over that one area because you weren't specific is extremely negligent. This is a DIY video, the reason why people are watching is because they don't know what they're doing. Do better!

I think you need to watch the video again. Specifically at 3:35. We literally show pulling the fuse from the truck and mounting it on the add a circuit and clearly show both on there. We did not go over the why because we have to assume (for time to keep the video short and watchable) that someone is going to follow our instructions in the video to the letter or 2nd they have experience with add a circuit if they don’t 🤷‍♂️. This video is also over 4yrs old and approved by the manufacturer. We get a lot of feedback over the years on other videos that we missed a step or something like that. But it usually comes down to people fast forwarding and skipping ahead. Specially on longer videos. All I can say is to make sure you watch YT videos closely. I use them too and I make sure to give an extra view to sections I don’t know like electrical.

Bill Beverly everything is made in China man. The current lights and electronics on your truck are all made in China. That don’t change the quality of the product anymore. It’s all about the main companies demanding and checking quality. Ford is strict, and AlphaRex is too and have guys at the factory constantly checking. Even stuff that says Assembled in the US, is made in China man. So that don’t mean anything anymore. Looks at all the electronics in your house, or your phone. All of it is made in China. Don’t have a problem there.

Where a particular product is made isn't the main issue. The standard of quality to which it's manufactured, is. That being said, the quality of the Ford factory headlight housings are manufactured to a higher standard of quality than anything in the aftermarket. Morimoto and Alpharex both have quality control issues, and the customer service from Alpharex could best be described as non existent. While the vast majority of people would agree that factory halogen bulbs are garbage, that's not a fault of the housings they're residing in. I'd sooner take my chances with a quality LED upgrade in the factory housing than spend the time installing aftermarket housings with questionable quality control. Morimoto, Alpharex, Vland, Anzo...the list of complaints goes on. Easily scratched, the planks stopped working after a few weeks, hazing, condensation in the housing. Not worth taking the entire grill assembly off and installing a quality control time bomb, particularly when the customer service from any of these aftermarket companies is lacking to say the least. Good luck filing a warranty claim when no one picks up the phone or responds to your emails. There's always a sacrifice when it comes to aftermarket parts, and unfortunately that usually comes in the form of quality control and customer service.

I haven't really spent that much on the truck though, lol. Full Raptor suspension swap for under $900, and now my truck can play with Raptors out in the desert for less than half the price of an actual Raptor, and only being 2WD the truck holds it's own pretty well in comparison. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford a Raptor, but for now I'm enjoying my F150/Raptor hybrid, lol.
