I just ordered your first book for my 68th birthday present and am excited to get it. Many years ago I got an art degree but was never good at pen and ink work. Your videos have convinced me that if I follow your excellent teaching I can improve tremendously. Thank you. I'll be getting your workbook soon.

Not only is your instruction helpful and very easy to understand, but the fact that you chose to use piano music rather than the SUPER annoying happy-funtimes stock electronic music that Literally Every Art Video Ever tries to use just earned you a ton of my respect. I can’t wait to try out what I learned here! Great video!

This is great! Thanks for sharing. I've picked up fantasydrawing again after several years (I've been doing different kinds of artwork from back then an unitl now) and I still have problems drawing dragons, lizards, etc. with scales that look like scales. But now you've helped me realize that I've been cutting the wrong corners. So thanks again for sharing, Sir!

wow thanks for the video! I have been drawing scales & textures And taking college level art classes for YEARS and 1) I never considered doing this 2) nobody ever mentioned the grid technique!!!! Thank you SO MUCH!!! I love drawing scaled creatures and often use scales and other textures when I draw and this REALLY helps me!! Btw I also just saw your "how to draw rocks" video and it's helping me A LOT because I always disliked the way I drew rocks and recently started doing studies of crystals (that visually resemble quartz, like amethyst, citrine etc) and I also didn't like most of what I drew. Now if I could draw feathers and fur properly … I'm going back to see what other videos you have

Yes I was waiting for a texture video. By the way can I persuade you to maybe make a video on curvilinear or 5 point perspective drawing. Most of the videos I found are to vague and try to cover too many aspects in a small amount of time. I would love for you use simple 3 dimensional shapes in displaying to how draw in that perspective. And maybe some anatomy forms also in that perspective. I'd really to love see you tackle a subject like that.

Normally I woud just draw like "3" shapes until I filled everything. Seeing your method is awesome and the way you explain it. Now I'll always try to draw scales like this. One more thing. Can you cake a video about feather texture? I always draw them like lots of "u" shape and I fill my birds with it. When I was 12 it was so cool but now I am 20 and I think I have to upgrade that. I am sure you know how to make some awesome feathers, if you can I woud like to see it

I'm in art school right now and I learned more from you (in general and especially with Anatomy) then I have the entire time at college. While I get theory is important without practical application it does little good. Thank you so much for these videos, you're an invaluable resource to artists of all skill levels.
