What I enjoy the most about your videos is not the great filming quality, the excellent culinary skills, the super nice night star video ... it is the path of a lonely but happy man through a simple life, the one that Westerners Like us, we forget that it is enjoyable and that we should all be grateful to live every second and enjoy it. I love your content, the images of you staring at the night sky in silence, just thinking. Just enjoy life, relaxed and thinking. I loved.

Jason, two comments. If you use propane a lot, look into Flame King. I just started and it’s both easy to fill and costs about a buck per tank. Second comment, place your metal plate on top of the cooking pan as you get ready to plate. It creates a hot surface keeping your dinner that much hotter. Love the felt hat. Cheers, Skillet

@@markhunt840 I too am a disabled camper, not "van life", but pickup life. I have considered trying to do some videos geared more towards the disabled. I figure even if a person is so disabled they are no longer able to do it, they would still enjoy videos. Also, I have a hunch that many disabled people wonder how they would manage with camping. As for the steak, his cooking looks as good as his videos.

Your videography and editing is top notch.....but I question your camping methods. I hope that those camping in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, including yourself, would follow the guidelines so that the area remains open to the public. There is overnight parking at Artist Point for those utilizing the trailheads and hiking in to designated wilderness campsites; but pulling your vehicle off the paved road onto a rocky over look and camping overnight at this location is not permitted. There are many areas where visitors are allowed to vehicle camp in the PNW on both national and state lands; but there are also guidelines to follow when doing so.

The sprinter is a big tin box with a trailer axle in the back and the engine out of a town and country. technically it's available in all wheel drive, it has the 4matic system which marcedes came up with 30+ years ago to make sedans handle better in the rain, nothing about the vehicle was ever intended to leave the pavement. Building a tonne of camper into it and hitting the unimproved roads is not my idea of relaxation.
@LivingTheVanLife
@LivingTheVanLife 4 жыл бұрын
Hahaha. I’m not sure where you get your facts at all. I’ve never seen a Mercedes 3.0L Diesel in a Town & Country. And I’m not sure how they would make a trailer axle into a drive axel since the Sprinter is a rear wheel drive vehicle. Are you sure you aren’t confusing a Mercedes Sprinter with the Dodge Promaster? The last I saw, the 4matics don’t have a high/low range 4x4 drive system. 4matics are AWD. Thats much much different than a 4WD (4x4) system. Just remember... just because it’s your opinion, doesn’t mean it’s true fact. Cheers!
@brocktechnology
@brocktechnology 4 жыл бұрын
@@LivingTheVanLife The sprinter and the promaster are the same platform(volkswagen and freightliner sell it to), co-branding is the industry term. I'm actually a mechanic at a dodge dealer, there isn't benz dealer within 300 km so I see both regularly. In my market that 3.0 Diesel turns up in cherokees as with all modern Diesels people buy them without doing their research and then turn white when they find out what the maintenance costs. For folks that enjoy the kind of lifestyle you do there's a larger concern with modern Diesels, Imagine your driving along, there's a chime and a message appears in the dash "Service Diesel aftertreatment system, engine shutdown in 50km", you'll probably think it's kidding , most people do, but trust me it ain't. This is a bit inconvenient on the highway but if your 100 km from pavement, well handy your in a camper. I didn't even notice it was Diesel on the first watch, as you can see I've got a whole other rant about that. On the subject of drive train. Modern Drive trains are software defined so they can use the same metal in a whole bunch of radically different platforms by only changing software and final drive ratio. In this case there trying to market this as a "big bad 4X4" so it will split the gears into a high group and a low group and give the driver a switch to play with. This isn't definativly the way there doing it but it's WAY to common(in this weight class) these days to assume anything else. It could also have aftermarket drivetrain components installed by the post OEM builder, but that's a rant I'll spare you. I guess the short version is it's got the drivetrain out of a C-class and nobody with mud in there hair is going to call that a 4X4. It seems like I'm being fairly negative here let me leave you with some better thoughts. Your cinematography is the very finest, in decades of watching nature films that the BBC takes pride in, I've seen nothing to beat your stuff. and that steak is a work of art.

You’re an inspiration. Watching your videos motivated me to drop everything, take a gap year from college, renovate my minivan, and live the van life:).

Hi, I found your channel yesterday. Inspirational, insanely inspiring ... I watched more videos all night until 7 am, slept until noon and continued watching :D You have the ability to amazing film editing, absolute professionalism, image, sound, music ... Have you had any training in this field? Fantastic idea for the canal - vanlajf and cooking over the fire, all in an incredibly beautiful natural setting ... And these dishes ... They look delicious. There is nothing else for me to do but wish you good luck and go back to watching your earlier movies. Greetings from Poland. PS. Of course I already subscribed.

Daniel Hanlon I’m on this stage of new fandom! I got into Chad through an older Snow video he did (winter camping is fascinating to me, but I’m too scared to try it), and now I’m just checking random videos out.
