Alpine in the 2025 World Endurance Championship Car and Drivers

Alpine is set to make a strong impact in the 2025 motorsport season, competing in both the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile World Endurance Championship and the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile Formula 1 World Championship. With a legacy built on endurance racing, the brand is preparing for its second year in the top category with the A424 Hypercar. Developed by the engineers at Viry-Châtillon, this machine is expected to be a strong contender in the premier racing class. The Alpine Endurance Team will once again enter two cars in the competition, maintaining a strong presence on the global motorsport stage.
The team is relying on a combination of experienced and promising drivers. Paul-Loup Chatin, Charles Milesi, and Ferdinand Habsburg will pilot the number 35 car, bringing youthful energy and ambition. Meanwhile, the number 36 car will be driven by Mick Schumacher, Jules Gounon, and Frédéric Makowiecki, with Makowiecki adding valuable expertise to the team. Matthieu Vaxiviere, who has been part of Alpine since 2022, will remain as a reserve driver, playing a crucial role in the car's ongoing development. With eight races across four continents, Alpine will go head-to-head with some of the biggest names in endurance racing. One of the most highly anticipated events will be the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the team will race on home turf, aiming to make a statement in front of their supporters.
Bruno Famin, Vice President of Alpine Motorsports, leads the racing operations, while Team Principal Philippe Sinault and Sporting Director Nicolas Lapierre bring their experience from previous championship victories. Under their leadership, Alpine has secured multiple titles in endurance racing, making them a force to be reckoned with. Motorsport remains at the heart of the brand’s ambitions, aligning with the ‘Renaulution’ plan introduced by Luca de Meo, which defines the strategic direction of each brand within Renault Group.
Alpine's deep connection to racing dates back to 1955 when Jean Rédélé established the brand. His passion for competition laid the foundation for a company that has grown into a powerhouse in motorsports. In the 1960s and 1970s, Alpine gained global recognition with its rally victories, most notably winning the Monte Carlo Rally in 1971 and 1973. The pinnacle of its early success came in 1978 with an outright victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
As Alpine expanded its presence in the automotive world, it continued to develop high-performance road cars, always staying true to its racing heritage. The introduction of the modern Alpine A110 in 2017 brought renewed attention to the brand, followed by various racing adaptations such as the A110 Cup, A110 Rally, and A110 GT4.
In 2025, Alpine is moving forward with an all-electric lineup under the Dream Garage concept. The Alpine A290 will be the first of these new electric models, followed by the A390, a fully electric sports fastback. The A110 R Ultime, unveiled at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, represents the pinnacle of performance for the brand’s road cars, delivering 345 horsepower and 420 Newton-meters of torque.
Since Alpine’s return to endurance racing in 2013, the team has built a reputation for success, winning European titles and multiple victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With a strong team and continued technical development, Alpine is determined to make its mark in the 2025 season, pushing the limits of performance on the world stage.
