Alpine Lakes + Hot Springs Healing in the Sawtooth Wilderness

Join me on a 12 mile hike to an alpine lake in the sawtooth mountains of Idaho for a cold plunge swim between hot spring soaks on the river and camping in the forest in my van. I feel most at peace when hiking, swimming and soaking daily on the road, so this was a very special road trip - complete with spectacular views, beautiful dirt roads, remote campsites, and some of my favorite trails and spots in the west. As always, we'll be doing healthy camp cooking, packed lunch meal prep for hikes, learning about nature along the way and identifying native plants on the trail.

You delight and amaze me, as always! My days of long hikes are over now. I'm in the hospital undergoing acute impatient rehab following several strokes. I'm learning how to use a walker to get around. But the doctor and all the staff are aware that I live in a van and travel full-time. My goal here is to regain my independence and return to my van. I'm even looking at some "off road" walkers! I'll get back on the road in a few months. In the meantime, I can live vicariously through you! I recall the feelings I had exploring seldom used trails and visiting places no one else seems to. A few years ago I spent two weeks including a 4th of July weekend at an isolated lake in southern Wyoming, never seeing another soul. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us!
