Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video. I’ve walked much of this route repeatedly, but certainly not all of it. I have a lot of respect for you, your work, and your artistry. Bravo!

I probably watched this about a hundred times along time ago and was thinking about it and found it. Washington cascades are a magical place in the summer 🍻

Absolutely! There is nothing like the Cascades IMO. Glad you continue to enjoy the vid. : )

how many days was this hike? I've been looking to do an overnight hike. Any good recommendations? I live in seattle area.
@SeattleSirHikesALot11 жыл бұрын
Six days of hiking and a day off (half way through) in Leavenworth to resupply. I have plenty of recommendations but there are a myriad of things I would need to know before giving you trip advice. I recommend calling the ranger station at the Seattle REI or checking out wta.org, both have limitless knowledge and info to provide on WA hiking.

Any chance of a map, or even just a list of trail numbers and junctions? (And in particular if there are any unofficial trail shortcuts, e.g. from Lake Ingalls to Stuart Pass.) I can figure out a lot of it, but not all of it. I'm assuming you didn't have an Enchantments permit so you blitzed from Windy Pass to Leavenworth in one day?

Sir, the cinematography of your hikes is excellent. Could you please provide red highlighted maps of the hiking routes at the beginning of each video. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
@SeattleSirHikesALot8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Gary. I probably won't attach a map to my vids, but will start putting a link in the description section, that links to the route on CalTopo.

Sir, thanks for your response to my request. I look forward to future videos of your hiking adventures. Happy trails!

ive been looking to do a week long hike but my hiking level is somewhat novice. Would you recommend the same route you took in this video?
@SeattleSirHikesALot9 жыл бұрын
Miguel Angelo Urbiztondo I wouldn't recommend my full route for your week long outing. Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail section of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness would be a great route. You would really get a great feel for this wilderness area that way and it's roughly 75 miles, point-to-point The PCT section is covered in my video from the 6:29 mark to the 7:54 mark.

Beautiful! Got any gps or route info? I'm looking for a 1st week of July trip! Never been to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness before.
@SeattleSirHikesALot6 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks! I don't use GPS, so I can't help you there, but here's a basic route description I posted: www.wta.org/go-hiking/trip-reports/trip_report.2013-09-09.4559404278. Should be fairly easy to follow on Caltopo or some other mapping software. Just a heads-up that the first week of July will have a significant amount of snow in the high country. It's a great wilderness area and you won't be disappointed.

Yeah snow..got a good link for snow coverage info? 1st week of July seems a sweet spot before the fire season, it there are no closures =)
@SeattleSirHikesALot6 жыл бұрын
I use SNOTEL: www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/detail/or/snow/?cid=nrcs142p2_046350. Gives a good overall assessment around the state. I'm with you on the fire season. Typically the fire season doesn't begin until late July in WA, sometimes later... Of course smoke from other states/countries is a separate issue. :/
