Alpine SWE-815 Active Subwoofer

Really happy with this active subwoofer installed in my Subaru Legacy estate. Gives just about all the bass you could need to give your music some bottom end. Easily removable too.

Just ordered mine. Comes on Friday. I have a audi tt so the battery is in the boot 😁. £106 delivered to scotland. Cheap bass especially good when you have the standard head unit. Easy splice into rear speakers instead of running rca cables all the way to the aftermarket head unit. 👍✌️

Grizzly Yeah I know what you mean. It’s not that powerful to rattle your rib cage but the bass will satisfy most people who appreciate good sound. 👍

I'm currently looking for an active sub to my car, to increase the depth of the bass further, as well as a light overall bass volume increase - so nothing loud really. Is this bass good in reproducing the deep bass on moderate bass levels? I'm thinking below 40Hz.

steffeeH I was really happy with this sub. It gave me all the bass I needed and could certainly deliver on very low frequencies. I had an underseat sub prior to this and the difference between the two was night and day in terms of low end bass. I think you’d be happy with the Alpine active sub.

Fatih YILMAZ Can’t remember the science but when the port is closed you get tighter bass and when the port is open the bass is basically louder if that makes sense?

It’s been over four years since I sold the car but I think I may have used a bit of sticky back Velcro to secure the box. However, it may have just been loose in the boot but didn’t move due to its weight.

Do I need to white and red inputs on the back of my stereo as the factory one in my corsa e 2015 doesn’t have them?

No you don’t need RCA (red and white) outputs for this to work. You can wire it into the factory speaker wiring.

Hi there, great video! I ordered one today...I fitted an aftermarket cable set (which is thicker than the one deliverd with the Alpine) in my Volkswagen Scirocco. Is it anyhow possible to connect with the Alpine wiring?

Hi - thanks for the positive feedback! You should be able to use the stock VW wiring from the head unit to connect to this sub. Mine was connected to a stock Subaru head unit with no RCA outputs.

I don’t know unfortunately mate if this better than the Pioneer 300A, also I’m not sure if they do this model in a larger size sub. However, this is an active sub with built in amp. 👍

IIRC you can’t power off the sub but you can set the volume to 0 so it basically isn’t on.

Hello. Thinking about buying this for my Pug 207. Much smaller boot than your Legacy so its perfect for space saving whilst packing a punch. I was told it comes with a speaker to line converter box for OEM stereo fitment if you don't want an aftermarket unit and a wiring kit. Is this true?

Hi - it accepts speaker level inputs so you can hook it up to your stock stereo speaker wiring.

is this a little box that wires up to the back of your factory stereo that takes a signal from say, the rear speakers and converts it from high/mid pass into low pass for a connection of RCA/AUX white/red cables that the amplifier can read and produce low pass sound out of? does that make sense, it does in my head...Haha lol

Kind of - no need for a conversion box, the inbuilt amp can handle speaker connections from your head unit and then converts them into the necessary low signals to produce bass. There's no need for a convertor of any kind.

Probably not the best tracks to choose for an out and out bass test but the video does show you the clarity of sound from the sub. I thought it was a great subwoofer tbh.
