Can it be vertical or does it have to be flat on the ground?

Is the clear plastic bit in 2 parts? The one on my jebau uvc is 2 parts that slot together but nothing holds the inside one in the outside one so I guess the water will push it out?

you have to glue them with pvc cement i know right its bs iv just had to use those bits too because the tail ends broke tightening it with hose clamp , i also found black powder on the inlet and the outlet =/ i have a reef tank and i dont think im even going to use it now
