Appreciate the only real review about AMT-10 pants out there! Would you say these pants would suffice for touring (long-distance) in fairly colder weather, 5C (40-ish Fahrenheit)?

They should, laminated pants usually block the wind well. I'd throw on a lightweight thermal pant just to give a little insulation.

I wonder if that Hydrophilic material actually helps to cool beyond simply a permeable membrane. By holding the moisture, the evaporation may be passively cooling the actual material, like a swamp cooler, as opposed to simply allowing the vapor to exit in the wind. If that's the case, it will work even better in dry regions like here in Utah. I'm sold on the AMT-10 set for touring out here. Thank you for such a detailed review of the gear!

Not sure if it quite works as well as that, but I do find hydrophilic laminated like this Drystar XF & Toray Dermizax much more comfortable at room temp to hot weather (and humidity - the ePTFE membranes need a humidity differential to work properly).

Thank you for this review. So hard to find reviews for this gear. I just ordered the Jacket but still trying to decide on pants. Have you come across the Road Tech pants yet? They seem to be new, and no review anywhere to be seen. If not, which pants would you suggest with the jacket? Thanks for you suggestions

Howdy, I find it hard to recommend these pants if you have muscular thighs and a smaller waist for sure. I went up to the Large and they're still tight feeling on my butt 🤣. Im aware that the Road Techs exist, but there's not a lot of stuff out there on A*'s newer products. They do have a more road oriented version of the DryStarXF laminated pant coming out called the Monteria, or you could look at the non-laminated options like the Halo pants.

@@cblais19 Wow thanks for the quick and detailed reply! It's a shame it's so hard to get info on their pants, you would think they would want to put out more marketing but I guess it works for them. Might end up going with the moteria thanks again

Only a couple light showers, but I’ve heard from at least one other guy who bought it from me that they were fine in prolonged light rain. Not sure if they’d hold up to an all day deluge - but I also don’t ride in stuff like that!

Do they have proper stretch in the crotch area?

Some, but it’s reduced by the need to run the membrane behind. Between that and a fairly slim cut you don’t have a ton of room to move about if you’re a more muscular build.
