Great review. Finally found someone how doesn’t make a video saying watever I can already read o alpinestar's website. You really commente on one concern I had regarding how it would feel on a hot weather. I live on hot & humid climete, so even when it's raining it is still hot, so ventilations is important to me too. I would love to see your reveiw on the other alpinestars Halo jacket too

Thanks! I wouldn’t recommend this jacket for humid climates. I currently have the Halo. To be completely honest, it’s still very uncomfortable if it’s above 85° and humid, and you’re not going fast. But it’s much better than any other jacket I’ve tried so far.

As a former sound engineer and recording studio manager I appreciate the clothes stand.

Nice review. I like this jacket but your video convinced me of what I feel like I already knew: it’s just too complicated for me. 15 zippers but none of them are vents (ok, the two cheater vents on front)? No waist adjustment? No forearm or bicep adjustment? Basic features skipped over in favor of the gimmick. Keep up the good work and thanks for saving me some money on this one haha. Cheers.

Lol at the Apple analogy; giving you less in the name of the environment. A jacket at this price should come with the back protection, for sure!

This was exactly the kind of review of this jacket I was looking for. Great job and thanks! I am hoping to see a similar video on that Halo jacket ;)

Thanks! The Halo jacket will be hard to review after Fortnine’s review on it. But perhaps we might..

@@1LiterADV Which jacket is better? alpinestars amt-10r vs alpinestars halo? I live in a very high quality area most of the year. And I am looking for a set (jacket and trousers) really 50%-50% to be able to use throughout the year.
@1LiterADV4 ай бұрын
@Fenix8232 I’m just going to say that I own the Halo and it suits me. Of course when it’s 95° and humid, i still cook inside of it when going slow. Also, for where we live, not having a built-in waterproof membrane is actually good.

It's so close to being excellent, I wish it had a better way to keep the arms in place away from rotation too - I keep worrying that the elbow armor will displace on a hit/slide since there's no way to pull them in to the arm, and the stretch is so...stretchy.
@1LiterADV Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Chris. I think the armor is similar construction to the AStar Halo jacket, where it is intertwined into the mesh. In theory, of course, when you crash you are suppose to replace your gear. In fact, AStar's lawyers want you to do that every 5 years, regardless.
@cblais19 Жыл бұрын
@@1LiterADV huh? Naw, its in a removable pocket in the liner like almost all A* gear, the halo is an exception there. My issue with it is how mobile it is around the joint - put the jacket on and see how easy it is to rotate it it up and down. Considering this is an adventure jacket, youre likely to take a lot of small spills on gravel that wont hurt the jacket at all.

Can u please suggest chest pad and back protector for this jacket
@1LiterADV3 күн бұрын
I bought one of Alpinestar’s back protectors and it’s been working well. I do not use a chest protector.

All I want is a jacket that's really waterproof, and I mean 3h heavy rain at 70mph waterproof, that's has easy to open ventilation while riding the bike, and features some sort of breathable fabric like Gore-tex. I don't want a million zippers, I don't want to have to stop to convert it from rain to hot weather and vice versa. Is that asking too much?
@1LiterADV Жыл бұрын
That is asking too much. 😁 I honestly would love the same but for some reason manufactures just don’t want to come up with it. Or maybe they can’t…

Maybe take a look at the Klim Carlsbad jacket. I'm doing some research on jackets that interest me, seeing if they can offer what I'm looking for, and thats the jacket i'm probably going to buy. The only cons I can find in it are no chest protection (even worse, not even pockets to put any there), and no waist adjusters, so it is kinda boxy. Aside from that, I think it's a pretty good jacket. Still looking at more options tho.

Alpinestars starts charging Klim money and everyone loses their mind

I’d have to do the research, but I’d guess that equivalent Klim products are still priced higher.

600£ for a jacket and poncho ! Because at this money is not waterproof !

Way to much pockets. Stiff and strange looking collar. It looks incredible uncomfortable. But the magnetic zipper looks interesting. Never ever would I pay a 1000$ for a jacket like this.
@1LiterADV Жыл бұрын
I can only really speak to one of the items you pointed out, comfort. Overall, the jacket is actually very comfortable. But it's only noticeable when you try it on next to a cheap jacket. But again, is it ALSO comfortable when it's 85 degrees outside and humid?...
@meinekleineweltreise Жыл бұрын
@@1LiterADV Oh, I trust you and your review. And I also like the company “Alpinestars”. But I would not pay that much money for a jacket, which isn’t a real laminated jacket either a real mesh jacket. For me there are too much compromises! 😉 Other than that, nice review! 👍
