My problem is Fit with Alpinestars gloves. Large in the Techs would be perfect, maybe a hair snug, but the fingers are too long. Medium fits the length of my fingers perfectly, but the rest of the glove is too tight.

Supertech or GP Pro R2; or even GP Plus R? [few track days, more daily rider use]
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 7 жыл бұрын
I think the GP Pro R2s are right in the sweet spot of track-level protection without shelling out the big bucks for the pro-tier Supertech gloves. I'd go with those. You'll want that hard wrist protection compared to the GP Plus Rs. -TeamZilla Chris *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-gp-pro-r2-gloves *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-supertech-gloves *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-gp-plus-r-gloves

MC flyer i don't see these holding a candle to the Held Titan Evo X's.. especially due to the lack of abrasion protection in the palm of your hand, and also that 4-5th finger birdge looks like a joke compaired to what the Held glove has on it. Not happy to see Revzilla recommend a new glove only based on a certification level and not using their own common sense or rider experience to make the recommendation.. Not cool guys.. Dear revzilla What is the difference in detail between a CE level 1 glove vs 2? I've been across the web on what makes a glove CE level 1 and what makes a glove CE level 2 and couldn't find anything. Can you please explain it? Just want to know what I'm buying in
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 6 жыл бұрын
For gloves to be CE Level 2, they require a longer wrist cuff length, twice the threshold to resist the wrist strap opening, about 50% higher tear strength and seam strength required, 50% higher cutting resistance, increased slide time, and reduced knuckle impact transfer. -DrewZilla

i wonder how that new material will hold up if you slide. seems like its more for damping a blow then for slide. i could be wrong though especially since it has the new protection badge

I have a pair of GP Pro R2 in size Large. The length of the fingers fill out and the rest of the glove is tight (but not uncomfortable) when I hold the handle bars. If I were to go to the Supertech glove, would the Large or Extra Large be a better fitment?
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 7 жыл бұрын
I cannot make an entirely foolproof recommendation, but if the size large GP Pro R2 gloves are tight, then you'd probably want the Supertech Gloves in size XL. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-supertech-gloves

Are these race gloves? I'm looking to upgrade my worn-out Alpinestars G P Pro gloves that I've owned since 2009, but I'm only a road rider and commuter, not a racer. Are these gloves suitable? I take protection seriously. Price is less important than _performance._

The Supertechs have additional stretch on the back of the hand, additional abrasion resistance with Schoeller Keprotech and more layers in higher impact areas, while feeling less bulky. For most people, the GP Pros will be more than enough, but for those that want them, the Supertechs are that extra step up. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-supertech-gloves *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-gp-pro-r2-gloves

However, Iannone has been wearing AGV for the past season, so we have some AGV Iannone replicas. hey guys, still dont get it, why the brigde between the to last fingers?
@thetriplex9365
@thetriplex9365 7 жыл бұрын
It's there to keep the little finger from "going its own way" when your hand is sliding. Put your hand on your desk and slide it from right to left (if it's the right one) or left to right (if it's the left one). Since it's the last finger, you can see that there's nothing to hold it and stop it from "getting left behind", so to speak. When that happens, it breaks. Friction forces are really high. I hear this is a common injury when crashing. The bridge uses the strength you have in the ring finger (the third finger), which is higher than in the pinky, to keep the little finger stays close to it. Makes sense? BTW, it's not an Alpinestars-only kind of thing, there are other brands that use a bridge between those fingers. It's just that people associate it with Alpinestars because it's the biggest brand that uses it. I have no idea how efficient it really is, but the construction makes sense from my point of view. Too bad Alpinestars gloves don't fit me, because I'd love to have that on mine. Dainese and other brands do something different. Dainese, for instance, has a system that lets you grip with the little finger, but it does not let it bend (hyperextend) too much. Basically, it tries to keep it straight when you hit the ground with your palm, and also tries to keep it on the same plane as the palm of the hand. You can look at the Full Metal D1 gloves to see what I mean. That's their best version of it. There's lots of leather around it, so that the friction with the pavement doesn't eat through all the leather and reach your finger.

TheTripleX makes sense, never got so deep into sliding couse i ride an enduro, but yes, the tiny finger stays behind, i tried just now, thank you)

I hate that bike the 16 ich front wheel never worked Jimmy Filice used different fork and 17 rim I crashed every time I was raced. Twice in Sears Point and one in Laguna Seca which caused a red flag every crash was 130-140 mph the Sears Point was on the top of the carussell but never have any scratch on my hand!! what I was trying to say is "" you don't need a $ 400,00 gloves you can find a good one for 80-130 dollar! the reason is $ 400,00 Because they using Big racers name and they have to pay them percentage

While that intro was produced long before my tenure at RevZilla, I believe they are Dainese Carbon Cover ST gloves. The closest option currently available from Dainese are the Carbon Long D1 gloves. How does this glove compare to the previous GP Tech???
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 7 жыл бұрын
Some people found the GP Tech Gloves to have an uncomfortable gauntlet, so the Supertech's gauntlets are now more comfortable. The Supertech Gloves are also less bulky while being more protective. The new seam design on the fingers of the Supertech Gloves increases feel, dexterity, and comfort by shifting the stitches from the palm side of the fingers to the tops of the fingers. With the GP Tech gloves on sale, they're an excellent value right now, but if you want the absolute best from Alpinestars, then you'd want the Supertechs. -DrewZilla
