if you get the chance to see them live it is the only concert at this time in my life i will say the high priced tickets are a no brainer. their performances are by far beyond anything else i've ever seen. no only the best musicianship but the synchronization of the incredible light show, it's like nothing else. they are easily the best on the planet right now. maybe ever.
@eddybassreactsАй бұрын
Yeeeaa, I agree with you…the drive for excellence calls for that level of synchronization

The thing about Tool is just how coordinated they all are. Every member is their own instrument, any they play them perfectly at the right moments. Yeah, Danny Carey is a God amongst drummers, but the band is willing to have him have his moment and then pull away to the bassist, then to Maynard, etc. None of them really come across as the star of the show, they all work amazingly together. It really is the group that shines. It wasn't until I heard Tool when I realized how impactful a a lead singer was. They were an other instrument in the band, and never more important then other members. You can really tend when a band fails getting this... and sadly there is a lot.

The god of polyrhythm. That guy right now is probably the best drummer on the planet that we know of. Like someone else already said, there's a reason he's called The Octopus. Dude's able to play at four different time signatures at the same time.

imo the best reactions to this performance are by bassists. drummers have a hard time admitting just how strong this is for the most part. at least the higher end drummers. the ego is real. bassists work hand in hand with the drummer and know what the guys they've played with before can do. no ego to be hurt in those cases.
@eddybassreactsАй бұрын
Yea, you are very very correct. It’s easier for us to admit when we see an amazing drummer

Its not just the fact that they wrote this for an album where you could mix all this together, he wrote it so he could do it in stage,lated out the drums so it was even possible to play, and then remembered it well enough to do it live and perfect every night at his age .. pure brain melting insanity.

Danny Carrey is the GOAT! He makes it look so effortless yet everything he’s doing is incredibly difficult. It’s amazing to watch.
@eddybassreactsАй бұрын
😆 Extremely incredibly difficult
@bettyrose959Ай бұрын
@@eddybassreacts He is for sure amazing, but the part he makes look effortless isn't actually that difficult to do. Most high school marching bands have drummers doing that on a march. Our school band had a great drum teacher and was heavy drum oriented. The band would enter at halftime with a similar beat. What is difficult is applying it to a band like Tool, making it fit and adding in more drums while playing it. His precession is impeccable. Every pass has the exact same fill. He doesn't play with any click tracks, he just has a natural rhythm like few others possess. A talent you can not teach.
