Well John I hope you all have a safe trip to your Sister's house. I look forward to your answer to the challenge at the glacier. Oh boy, this is going to be good!! LOL Hey, your travel mugs look great and I found that the wood is a very good insulator for hot coffee. Looking forward to your next video.

Thanks for the compliment on the coffee mugs. As for the challenge, reality interfered with my glacier prediction. It was just too %@$#*)& cold! There will be an answer to the challenge now that we are back from Montana in SUNNY Florida soon!

Hello, I am would like to know what finish you use on you projects, where you get your wood supply of blanks and finally what grit grind stone do you use on your grinder as I am a new wood turner, Many thanks, Luke
@JohnWilliams-oq5nm10 жыл бұрын
Luke - thanks for checking out my videos! As for finish I will use tung oil or shellac. For tung oil it is 3 or 4 coats rubbed with 0000 steel wool in between and then wax with the first coat applied with 0000 steel wool. For the shellac it is put on in several coats or sprayed very thick. After it cures it is wet sanded to 1200 grit and waxed and polished. 120 grit is the wheel I sharpen with. Looks like you are a sailor. Where do you sail?
