I think you’ve touched into the eternal part of you that is more than the body and thoughts of the mind. It is beautiful.

I know I've commented before here few years ago, but it's really well done documentary, very professionally done, one of my very favorite. I have patient with ALS now, I'm his caretaker, but we are also very good friends. I've been with him for 3 years now. He's the only friend I have, since I've always been a loner. His Als is progressing quicker, it horrifies me what is coming next...

Congratulations! Birger. On reaching 22 years with this terminal illness. ALS/MND. There are plenty of people who have survived the life expectancy prognosis. (2 to 5 years). Stephen Hawking's had the disease for 50 years +. I got it myself for the past 43 years. Diagnosed in 1978. And I am now the longer survivor in the world with the disease. I would like to hear from anyone who has got the disease longer. It's a trophy that I could well do without. But if the cap fits, then ware it. I'm Badly wounded but still with some important abilities. It would be great if our neurologists were able to tell us if we have the short or long life expectancy? Instead of this 2 to 5 years? I wish you well Birger and many more years of acceptable life. Andy ~

Dear Birger, I must admit that your fight against our bloody disease is beyond any appreciation. Well done. You're one of the best examples to all ALS patients and caregivers. Keep up the fight my friend. I believe that the cure may not be tomorrow, but it is so close. All the best. Unal

I have a friend with ALS. I would do anything that he survived this awful disease. There are very promising drugs on horizon but the stupid virus slowed everything down, and I'm afraid my friend does not have much time until he won't be able to talk or swallow.

Brilliant documentary! Brilliant person. To certain commenters who I shall not name, but who by taking personal offence would thus incriminate themselves by seeing themselves in this description: some video comments threads are ones on which to persistently and aggressively evaluate and judge the ground on which spiritual beliefs (or non beliefs) are founded; some are not. This is not one of those. Of course, you're entitled to your opinion, and to the free expression of it, but you cannot force people to respect it, and being entitled to express and champion it does not always make it right to do so, nor does it make it equally important, either.

Everyone wants peace. Doctors should give you the right to die. The girl saying that death wasn’t the best thing for her father said it from a unrealistic selfish perspective. Perhaps her father wanted the suffering to end. What about the lives of the care givers as well. It’s a terminal disease which requires 24/7 care. Patients need to consider that when opting for a ventilator. This decision also sentences the caregiver to the disease. I for one wouldn’t subject my loved ones to hindering their lives for possible decades like that. I also can. not imagine the long term financial effects once the patient dies. The caregivers lost years of their lives and any financial stability for their lives and especially when they may require help in older age. Of course none of that matters to the patient that finally passes. They wanted to live with extreme human and financial sacrifice which to them is more important then the well being of their so called loved ones.

Wait, this recording when woman says you knew each other before, in previous lives- does she have any evidence, ANY AT ALL, to back up her claims?

@@alsfilm I have very strong feeling that random guy from the other side of globe is obsessed with my hair. Or I believe in reincarnation because I have very strong feeling it's true. Don't you understand that no matter how strong we wish for something or how strong we feel about something- that doesn't make it true. It's called wishful thinking. I saw your documentary a while ago, I didn't know if you still were alive , but you are, and I am very happy about it. I completely understand that you treasure life, and you want to live no matter what because I am the same way. I don't have any disease, I'm 20 year old trapped in body of 44 year old ( if I might borrow your expression which I liked a lot), but I still get sad that I will never learn about all those fascinating discoveries that are yet to come, new music being composed, new books and documentaries, etc- personally I wish I could live forever. Unfortunately there's no proof that there's any afterlife.

There's no proof, none whatsoever, that we lived more than once. Same with existence of any deity. Other than that, very interesting film.

There's no such thing as soul. Unless it can be proven otherwise.

And you can not prove the soul does not exist. You can not prove what only your heart feels to be love for your children. You can not show me what your heart holds but you will say it exists. Prove it. When your loved one dies, years prove nothing. People fake it all the time. How do morning glory's know to bloom? You can not prove the soul doesnt exist but you dont have one. This documentary is meant for the positive. For you to come and repeatedly harass the positive proves your misery. You don't have to be a Christian to be good and kind. You are just a lonely, miserable creature, who only gets one short, small meaningless life. Go find people who want to hear your misery. Leave happy people alone. You are a bully, and will be reported. Punk

I'm agnostic myself, but let people believe. Why does that bother you so much that you persistently question their points of view in multiple comments? Have some respect for their plight. They're entitled to their thoughts just as you are to yours. What did you accomplish coming back again and again to leave a public announcement of how sure you are of yourself? We know absolutely nothing.
