Danny Kaye (1911-1987) joins Caterina Valente (1931-2024) for an unforgettable musical extravaganza, 'A Salute To Louis Armstrong', featuring many of the songs that Satchmo (1901-1971) made famous during his remarkable career.

Caterina Valente died on September 9th aged 93. R.I.P. to an exceptional talent with an incredible repertoire of songs and musical styles in 11 languages -- also a guitarist, dancer and actress. Rest in peace with the other crooners...

Saw Caterina Velente in concert at the Waldbuehne in Berlin, German, around 1955 - my first live concert To have these three great performers in this video is just amazing. Saw Louis 'Satchmo' Armstrong in Utah in about 1962 (or so), danced the night away and to top it off got his autograph---what a gentleman and talent. Danny Kay - what's not to love!!! Thank you for the memories.

Valente was one of the most talented, amazing and best entertainers ever. She was born to Italian parents in Paris and sang in many languages. She was also a huge star in Germany all her life, an icon. She's 90 years old and lives in Switzerland now.
