This song speaks to me through losing a loved one. The 'something good' is something that has initially attracted our attention. When that thing impales us, the world turns upside down and becomes chaotic and unfathomable. When we reach for our swords and separate ourselves from the thing that impaled us, we become free from our attachments and find attraction the 'something good' again. But, this time, we are left with a hole the shape of what impaled us before.

I mean, aren't the lyrics pretty clearly about taking drugs to distract yourself from the pain of being broken up with?
@akshaychoudhry2 жыл бұрын
@@franzroth2830 I like that interpretation and it could be the most widely accepted general interpretation. It can also be the pain of knowing that your loved one is with someone else(only for the time being, without a break up). And "something good" distracts you from thinking about it. "Something good" can be any form of sedation, softer or as hard as drugs depending on how depressed it makes one feel. This alternative interpretation makes it more relatable for me.

Meaning: This song is about overcoming a heroin addiction. The music video is stunning. The bulls horn piercing the matador's body is to symbolize a needle piercing a person's arm. The faces that he makes and the visions that he see's are also to represent the feeling of being on the drug. The bull itself represents heroin. The bull's eyes change colour at the end, the same way the liquid in a needle would change colour after injection. The swinging of the sword is to symbolise the moment that he wants to overcome his addiction. The bull is seen as aggressive and dangerous but the matador still shows the bull affection at the end of the video despite having a hole through his body to symbolise addiction. We can then see the bull attack another person at the end of the video to symbolize the drug taking over somebody else while the matador looks on to symbolise that the addiction has ended for him. Lyrics: Something good, oh something good, oh something good, Oh something good tonight will make me forget about you for now Get high, hit the floor before you go Matador, estocada, you're my blood sport But something good, oh something good, oh something good Oh something good tonight will make me forget about you for now Forty-eight thousand seats bleats And roars for my memories of you Now that I'm fully clean The matador is no more and is dragged from view Get high, hit the floor before you go Matador, estocada, you're my blood sport Forty-eight thousand seats bleats And roars for my memories of you Now that I am clean The matador is no more and is dragged from view But something good, oh something good, oh something good Oh something good tonight will make me forget about you for now

Thank you Dontnod Entertainment for placed that amazing song to your game. Personally, I've heard that a long time ago likewise with Crosses, but I'm still glad, that both of them has been picked in Life is Strange.

+Bellatriixx12 yes. You are the only one. You are alone at the top of the cool tree. You are the loneliest number. Avada Kedavra yourself.

+Bellatriixx12 For real though, I think EVERYONE came here for the artist's incredible work. If people didn't love the music... newsflash... they wouldn't be here. Personally, I knew about breezeblocks and Taro before I played Life is Strange, and then found this song through that and it got me even more into them. Now my favorite song by Alt-J is Every Other Freckle. These guys are fucking awesome and are one of the few "new" and progressive bands right now. And this video has 12 million views. Pretty sure you're not the only one who's listening to them because of their amazing work. Don't be such a goddam hipster. You probably hate Twenty One Pilot's new album, too.

Just because Life Is Strange brought a lot of the viewers here doesn't mean that they didn't come for the band's great music, does it really matter what brought you here?

Summer is rolling in, windows down, this song playing driving through the country surrounded by long pasture and crops with the afternoon gentle breeze. The nostalgia of home.
