Did it end up holding? I have a 10" peerless subwoofer with bad rub right now. Going to have inspect further.

How did you know it was rubbing in the first place? Was it something you heard when you were playing music?

My voice coil is stuck to the middle part of magnet. The Yamaha 15-inch speaker is over 40 years old. How do I unstuck the voice coil?

I keep my fingers crossed every time I listen that the coil rub doesn't come back...so far, so good.
