Thanks for the review! I recently got a Stampwheel, which I love for my desk size but had been wondering with being a pensioner if I should spend money I can’t really afford, when I’d only recently bought the first one. I do love the upgrades they’ve made with the lifting edge & slightly bigger size for those of us who enjoy scrapbooking as well.

I hope they continue to make the original because my workspace is limited. I think I will be getting the original one and some of the accessories, but the big one is just too big for me. I don’t work with stamps that large anyway. Again, I appreciate your explanation and I’m saving this video for future reference. I thank you for everything you do.

I appreciate your reviews. You give us the detailed info we need to know to decide on the items then you tell us how to use it. The improvements are well thought out and executed. I love Altenew’s layering stamps and this does seem to be the optimal way to use them. This tool also gives stampers another way to use our stamps with making wreaths. Always a good thing. I would request it as a gift or say I am saving up for it and cash would be appreciated. You are correct that we each need to evaluate because what’s good for one may be bad for another. For those of us with bad hands this may not be the right tool but I know if my hands were in better shape I would love to have one. ✂️✂️✂️✂️✂️(🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟) another 5 scissors vid. 😁

@@bertas-cards Thanks for your extra input. I did notice Simon was using the heel of his hand to press The top when it was stubborn to go down. I have a huge amount of nerve damage in my hands and my fingers don’t manipulate well. I drop things a lot which makes a mess in the craft room🙄😂For me it’s the flipping of the lid/top (i’m sorry I forgot what it’s called) that’s going to be stressful. I have another tool that’s a very early version. It’s a big investment to find out it makes my hands go totally numb. I’m going to think about the original one because it’s smaller. If I only use it with the layered flowers… I wonder. Maybe… Thanks again for your input because you are making me re think. I’m going to rewatch Simon paying close attention to his fingers and gripping which is where I have the most trouble. The fact that I can craft is a miracle. After I was injured I couldn’t hold a pencil. Unfortunately that was only the tip of the iceberg. I can craft if I am careful 😁

Thanks for the review! Nice to know the differences! I like the stamp wheel because you don't have to flip it open to the side. You just need the space for the size of the base. I'm a messy crafter and don't always have the extra space on my workstation hehe :)

I was very excited. I recently purchased the waffle sticky mat, with multiple layered Simon Hurley stencils. I was super excited to use all of it! I was super sad that the sticky waffle mat removed the stencil lining and I can’t get it off the sticky mat. Didn’t come with any warnings that this would happen. I thought that it was used to hold your stencils down. I must’ve been mistaken.

I’m so glad the larger size is available and I was hoping you’d do a review. My favorite stamping technique is using layering stamps and mass producing cards. What I want to do is place a full sheet of card stock in the stampwheel and end up stamping a finished card in each quadrant before cutting the card stock to make 4 card fronts. Is that possible to do by removing the one edge? I hope that makes sense. Could you do a demo if you find that it’s possible? Thanks, Simon!

Thanks for another great review, Simon. I love my original Stampwheel. While there are features on the new one I like, I am going to make out just fine with what I have. If I didn't have a Stampwheel yet, I would buy the bigger one. I usually add inside sentients after I have assembled my card, so taking off one edge to allow my card to fit at 8 1/2 or 10 inches would be perfect.

I recently got the original Stampwheel, I got it on sale and I love it, I don’t think I need the larger size, plus it looks like the new one wouldn’t fit in the drawer I use for storage. I don’t make anything larger than 5x7. They still need to add a grid at the bottom (I bought their thin sticky mat and that works great. It’s meant to be used with cling stamps, but I use it mostly for the A2 markings). Thanks for the video!

Great review Simon. I would have liked to see the lift out edge be magnetic. I would like to see both types of flip plates included with this version. Had issues getting a gridded flip plate that fit properly with original version. My tip would be to wait & order when the grid flip plate is available. I agree 12.5” would make sense for scrapbookers & for larger card styles & home decor. I put my own ruler tape on my stampwheel.

Thanks for the review! I just bought the SW in June. I had a feeling they’d release a new improved one soon but I looked all over and found nothing to show that so I went ahead and got one. That’s ok, I love it! It is disappointing that 2.0 won’t hold a 12x12 page, although I imagine in the design it would have made the product too big with the flip plate on the 2.0 being 13 inches already. I was thinking they missed an opportunity of adding a ruler until you showed it us in 2 sides. I would prefer on all 4 because I do like to be sure to center everything in all directions and that would be more helpful. I am glad they came out with a grid-line flip plate as well, that is on my list bc it can be hard to get stamps lined up straight on the wreath plate that comes with it. So far I haven’t had anything too big for the original SW to handle, I feel like it’s a great size. I was surprised when I got it, I had thought it would be a little bigger than it is.

Thank you for the review. I thought about buying the first model. To get regular patterns I used either the Crafter's Companion Stamping Platform or the We R Makers Precision Press, both allowing for good results. Then Sizzix released their own stamping platform with the spinning wheel, and I chose that one over the Altenew. And that's my current favorite for all kinds of stamping, very versatile because you also can lock the hinges up and down, like for example the SU stamping platform. The Tim Holtz and the Stampin'Up look now very sad 😉

I would love to see Simon design a few mini scrapbook pages! Perhaps a little 6"x6" album using the Sizzix Bookbinding & Label die by Eileen Hull (that's my favorite one, lol). He could use stock photos or take photoes just for the album at events and holidays, and leave the area for memories blank, just for the youtube video. He makes incredible cards, I bet he would design fantastic scrapbook layouts with super cute details!

Also, I am glad to see that they made it thinner to be able to stamp red rubber stamps. What do you think? Should all stencils be flipped to the shiny side to the sticky grid like yours? I never knew that.
