Fun fact, the predator who comes in this movie is called wolf. If it wasn’t obvious he specializes in these kinds of hunts. In fact the ship that crashes sent a distress signal to him specifically I believe. One big missed opportunity is how basic the Yautja's design is. According to the lore, when Yautja go hunting, they put limits on their arsenal to give their prey a fighting chance. But in this case, he's not there to hunt. He's there to do a job and he has to get it done as quickly and efficiently as possible meaning the usual restrictions on his arsenal shouldn't apply. In other words, this was a chance for the creators to go completely ham and make his design as over the top and insane as they wanted but chose not to. I can't decide if that's respectable or just plain stupid.
@treyrex59872 жыл бұрын
I do agree to this but I do have a question... would it really be necessary for Wolf Predator to have an over the top design? As shown in the film, it's not like he NEEDS any improving on just design alone when he's fully capable of handling the situation with just the material he has. Unless you're suggesting that Wolf Predator should come in there with something like that ridiculous Predator Killer armor they had in The Predator 2018 (which I'll never consider canon) in which case, that would be cool and would make sense since he's in there to exterminate an infestation of xenomorphs and not go on a hunt but would still be ridiculously unnecessary.

The Predalien impregnation scene was fucked up and honestly it's the best character re-railment of the Xenomorph I've seen. Returning it to H.R. @DarthBiomech2 жыл бұрын
It was Giger's vision of the design, but I'd say the Alien's nature should've be more lovecraftian in the portrayal. The first film goes very hard on the "we shouldn't be here" and "It's completely unknown" vibes in the first half, and the second half is just basically punishment for the curiosity.

In the AVP game Extinction, there’s a Predalien Queen that was spawning normal Xenomorphs to attack the predator player. The cool thing about Xenomorphs is that their embryos take DNA from the host creature they are implanted in, this gives the Xenomorph the best adaptations for their new environment for their warriors. This is best seen in the Predalien and Dog/Bull alien. The Xenomorph lose the dna forms when molting from Warrior to Praetorian and so on to Queen and Empress.

The Predator was the real protagonist, we just saw the story from a more relatable perspective.

What? It is easily the worst. The whole small-town-USA-teenage-drama crap has no business in either a Predator or an Alien movie. They had a few good ideas with the Predalien and clean-up Predator plus the gore, but the rest is generic B-horror with the AvP label to make it interesting. There's a reason why everyone was pissed at this when it came out.

This predator in predator vs alien requiem is called wolf and he is a elite predator which means that he has been in so many battles and never lost and thats why he has a white eye and his one of his mandables is missing

The base model of xionmorph is actually based on the human form. As you said earlier; they do in fact take traits of the incubation host. Which since we have seen no thing but xinomorphs from humans. It is the base model we have known. The only exception being the yautja (predator) and a dog in alien 3.

Don't they usually do a test screening before releasing a movie? Did the director ignore the sane people that said "How are we suppose to watch a movie in Pitch black?" Or were the screening audience just sitting there saying "Ah yes drown me in the void as I listen to their Cries of agony."

Okay, as much slack as this movie gets it does contain,in my opinion, one of the most gruesome kill scenes in an alien and/or predator franchise. Put yourself in the mindset of that little boy who sees his father died of chestburster, right before your life is taken by the same. It might just be me with the whole killing off the kid thing, but if you think about what he went through and what he saw in his last moments it's pretty sad.

Great video, I've never understood why people ship Alexis/Scar as during that movie there is no flirting/chemistry in any scene, just two beings working together. It'd be the human equivelant of a person falling in love with a chimp, the yautja are advanced beings that care a lot about genetic purity as they literally fight for the right to pass on their genes. Again great video, I didn't hate AVP 2 either, not trying to upset anyone, just never understood the ship. Have a great day everyone XD

This movies is kinda re-watchable if you skip all scenes that are not the AvP parts, making the movie 30 mins long. That Predator was an actual Blooded Elite, he was not there on a trial. He was there for clean up, total clearance. That means everyone goes, hunters, fishers, rig workers, soccer moms, soccer moms kids. It's been well established how dangerous Xeno's are if left unchecked. The Predator was there to CTRL-ALT-Delete anything the Xeno touched. Can't risk it. More movies showing full Blooded Elites in action would be sweeeet.

Fun fact: the PredAlien sometimes displays more personality traits and behavior than it’s other race, in the movie this one wanted to make a nest, while in the game it hunted like a predator, even ripping off peoples head and spine, but doesn’t really understand why it does that, it mainly comes done to genetic memory and instinct of the predators, yeah it did it in the movie, but only once, while in the game it does it a lot.
@DarthBiomech2 жыл бұрын
But wouldn't that make the predator's entire civilization be genetic and instinctual in nature, then? Which is, kinda a racist undertone. It's one thing when you do "its a planet of hats" trope, but when you go even further and imply that desire to make hats is programmed genetically...

Their orders were to contain the situation, which they did with the nuke. A small group who managed to escape isn't going to instantly be killed. They would be detained, tested, interrogated, etc., before eventually being let go. The main threat was dealt with, they had no reason to kill them.

I (tried to) watch this movie and ran into "the darkness in Hollyweird's soul" as you did, which confused me no end. When it finally got to the "nuclear option," I concluded that this would end the franchise, at last. But, as the "Sharknado" series shows, studios will beat a dead horse to the bones, then to dust. I blame "Relic" (1997) for these "can't see anything" waste of resources that Roger Corman would abhor.

Though I get what you mean by the movie is dark but for some reason I could see every detail in your video which was the same screen. Anyways I enjoyed the video.

The xenomorph design is by far my favorite look of the alien just wish u can actually see it by far my all time fav alien warrior idk why they chose to make the movie soo dark idk if its because to hide the pratical effects so it doesnt look bad in the movie I can understand that but make a version where its brighter heck the trailer looks brighter than the film and for having only like ine Predator as like a terminator to eliminate the aliens in secret until all hell breaks lose is great overall AVPR is awesome my favorite of the two avp films just the dark view brings it down.

i think it was a thing for a bit that if you super heat xeno blood it looses it's acidic effect, and that was what the predators plasma caster heat the blood just enough... but the pressure of the the remaining blood forces itself out of the now cauterized wound... or at least i think i remember that being a thing in one of the old comics...
@sempermilites872 ай бұрын
My theory on why it was so dark was because with certain scenes they chose to do, like the kid getting killed and the pregnant woman getting what happened to her as well, the movie's rating was starting to go past rated R and to keep the R rating, they had to darken the movie so you kinda see what's going on, but not enough to where you get gruesome details.

Hello Alteori. Here is another Alien/Predator movie review, Alien vs Predator: Requiem. I like this movie, it was alright-ish. The Predator that was sent to earth is called WOLF. An elite rank Yautja, the one they sent to clean up the mess. Also, I get what you're saying too many darkness on the background, no lights mean can't see what's happening. Still, alright-ish movie. Anyway, another great video, Alteori, I like it, see you in the next one.
@unicornactual3432 Жыл бұрын
There's a lot of love for the Wolf predator, but honestly he failed. He died in the end and I refuse to believe he didn't miss at least one Xenomorph. Add the fact that he had zero impact on the outcome and he's just a sad predator that died for now reason after failing. The nuke saved the day and that would've happened without his involvement. Its a little sad but all he did was muddle about and fight a handful of aliens before getting flash fried. Predalien kiss was hot though, mad respect for drawing attention to that.
