Noctis Dragneel : I can relate, Alter Bridge came along when all the bands I listened to were very dark and angry. Alter Bridge brought some light into that darkness and it hasn't changed man, AB still kick total ass and remain my favorite band. I just hope now that Slash is back with GNR maybe they'll bring Alter Bridge back to life completely instead of just waking a sleeping giant for a year and letting it sleep again.

I have been listening to Alter Bridge for quite a few years. There is no other band out there quite like them. I Love Mark Tremonti's solo projects. I Love Myles work with Slash. But for me, there is nothing quite like Alter Bridge. There is something special that happens when Mark and Myles and the rest of Alter Bridge come together. Some kind of magic that happens when the individual pieces come together to make the whole that is Alter Bridge. I have a very deep connection to music. It is very precious to me. The intro sounds like Avenged Sevenfold. Vocally, it's very much like Myles' work with Slash. Musically, it sounds like Alter Bridge and Slash. I think Mark has gotten some ideas from Slash because the riff in Tremonti's "The Cage", sounds a bit Slashy. They read my mind cuz I felt it may be a good idea to try a fast-paced, Slash-like song with soaring vocals to help with exposure. I love this. Can't wait for Oct. 7th to hear the rest!!!

Wow I just lost it a little bit because this comment covers the impressions I had of this song perfectly! I only listened to the full version of this song once because I'd like to retain some surprise when the full album comes out, and when I'm trying to remember the intro all I can hear is the intro to Critical Acclaim by A7X! Agree about Slash, and love the "The Cage" reference for the guitar riff and also the solo containing one of the exact same licks.

I was sold on the solo, Alter Bridge are worth the three year wait between albums. Myles seems to have finally honed his voice to absolute perfection, not that it was needed tbh, the guitar was always a strong point and the reason Tremonti is one of if not the greatest of all time, I thank Adam "Edge" Copeland for having Metalingus as his theme song and introducing me to this band, they never disappoint.

+ThatOneGuy20XX Myles is also much more agressive and engaged in his singing and writing since he met Slash. I mean, look at this song. This might be their most politically engaged. I'm digging it. Fortress is definitly my favorite album, the sound, and the songs (lyrics AND instrumentals)... From all their albums, Fortress talks to me the most. And The Last Hero seems to be going the same way (even though I don't really like political stuff, this is balanced really well). Special mentions to ABIII though. It was the revelation for me. When it came out, I bought it, listened to it, and immediately understood I should give this band more attention. But I can understand why people would react the other way. Especially people who come from the Creed era, and discovered AB with One Day Remains or their ballads.

+MrQuelquDeux I don't think Myles has become more aggressive with his vocals, I think he's rediscovered something he used to do. If you listen to say Sick and Wrong by the Mayfield Four, it's about as aggressive as it gets. He just isn't going for as much of that clean sound anymore, he's going for more of a authentic live feel.

I'd still say he's getting more agressive in his writting (this is definitely their most political song, and we heard Myles swear in a studio record in World of Fire, which never happens with Alter Bridge in studio). ***** I would not say ABIII nor Fortress are radio friendly, while I'd argue "In Loving Memory", "Watch Over You", "Before Tomorrow Comes" are litterally made for radio. And as far as sound goes, yes it changed, but radio friendly ? The guitars are even more loud, and the bass is even more resonant, while the drums are still the same (with less highs and more kick though). For example, the guitars on titles like "Bleed it dry" or "Fortress/Cry Of Achilles" aren't what I'd call radio friendly. I think you're seeing a link because you want to see it. Myles has always been radio friendly. Even with the Mayfield Four. And he keeps to be with titles like "Wonderful Life", "Life Must Go On" or "Lover", which I ironically never heard on the radio. That's specifically the reason why I believe Slash choose him, because Slash loves the American Rock FM.

Esta banda ha trabajado en este disco desde hace más de un año (cuando Mark y Myles seguían en tour con sus otros proyectos) y sé que ellos le pusieron mucho empeño.

Quizás se cae en la comparación con SMKC porque Michael Baskette estuvo como productor en WoF, que sonó más cercano a Fortress que a Apocalyptic Love y el sonido clásico de Slash. Para mí, a gusto personal, WoF fue uno de los mejores discos de Slash como solista (The Unholy es la puta gloria). En mi opinión, AB tiene su estilo y SMKC otro. ¿Lo mejor? Mike Baskette produjo 2 grandes discos, con este van a ser 3 (le tengo fe) y el próximo de SMKC será otro grandioso album. Tenemos Myles por todos lados, con grandes canciones, letras de la hostia y con 2 bandas detras que hacen una combinación estupenda. Lo que espero con ansias también es el disco solista de Myles.

Yo personalmente me acerqué a Alter Bridge a través de Slash, y es cierto, este single suena parecido a las últimas producciones de SMKC, pero vamos, como todos dicen realmente esto es al estilo "Slash", o es que WoF podríamos ubicarlo en un punto medio Alter Bridge-Slash? No sé si me doy a entender, pero vaya que somos afortunados de tener a Myles con alter bridge, y por otro lado con slash. Sin duda ambos proyectos han dado como resultado trabajos de gran calidad!

+PaulStanley59 Coincido con tu opinión ,y sí, somos afortunados de poder escuchar la voz de Myles una vez más, en fin,creo que lo mejor será dejar que la gente piense lo que quiera,porque me imagino que con los discos anteriores debió haber comentarios así, no precisamente diciendo que era un estilo SMKC pero sí que por ejemplo Fortress no era tan bueno como los otros y opiniones así. Yo tengo fe en que este álbum no decepcionará a los fans,y espero y a medida que pasen los meses vayan sacando más singles o más canciones :) Dime,para ti esta canción es demasiado rebuscada o sí te mola? porque bien,algunos parecen decir que esto no es envolvente y se vuelve aburrida,pero hombre,que yo la he repetido demasiadas veces, y es que el intro y el solo,y ese coro...Sí, definitivamente ellos están en busca de un estilo más propio de nuevo :') buena opinión amigo,es agradable responder a estos comentarios ^^

+Alejandra Lopez jeje gracias, para mí también es agradable poder sostener una conversación bien en comentarios de KZbin 😂. A mí el tema me parece bueno, en lo personal no deja de ser Alter Bridge, pero sé que este no será lo mejor del álbum, repito personalmente este tema no me sorprende bastante, pero me parece bueno. Por otro lado volviendo a que este de aquí lo comparan al trabajo con Slash, pues es comprensible que haya similitudes puesto que desde Starlight, hasta WoF, Myles fue tomando poco a poco más importancia en la composición, puesto que Starlight ya estaba escrita y solo la grabaron me parece, en A.L no escribió todos los temas, y en WoF tuvo más participación en la composición. Es imposible no encontrar similitudes, pero para mí siguen estando separados los trabajos de Slash y los de Alter Bridge. Quiero agregar que el mejor álbum de AB para mí es One day remains, seguido de Blackbird y Ab III esos tres me encantaron. For tres lo desconozco.

Am I the only one who dislike this song? Please,understand,AB are my favorite band since One Day Remains....but this song is very different from AB style...I mean,c'mon it sounds like a Slash's song! I love Slash too,but I would like Myles could have kept things different! He's singing the same way he sings in the Slash's Album...:-(... so sad! Maybe playing with Slash didn't make him well! Anyway there's a great solo :-) :-)
