I actually like Silverbolt’s alt mode. Especially when you think about the symbolism behind it. A condor usually symbolizes death, but also rebirth. death being his original self and sense of honor, but was reborn and for a moment felt lost. From a noble night to a brooding ronin. Basically a fallen angel reclaiming what was taken from him.

Damn. That's exactly why I liked Rattraps design. He always shot first and asked questions later. Even when he was afraid, he still had a weapon and took a cowardice stance to everything. Basically leading the predicons several times to think they could trust him. He needed to realize what sacrifices to make for those he cares about. Not just himself.

On the subject of Silverbolt's Beast Mode, I figured out what species of condor he turns into: It's an Andean Condor.

This was a bit of a role reversal for them because in Beast Wars, Silverbolt was helping her return to her Maximal Roots and to leave The Predacons, while in Beast Machines Blackarachnia was helping him after Megatron reprogramed him to be The Vehicon General Jetstorm.

What really bothered me back in the day was the whiplash change of Silverbolt's attitude. I can get behind the idea of the noble knight character being bitter from having been mindcontrolled and shit... but when he came back momentarly to his old self, he WAS his old self. I never understood why such the drastric change the second time around and I think it would have been better if he was shown straight up bitter from the get go.

My favorite Maximal, in case you’re wondering, is Rattrap because he feels mostly the same in terms of personality, though him having an established relationship with Botanica at the end of the show felt forced and random.

We should've had Silverbolt as Thrust, and instead of Waspinator, we should have had Tarantulas as Jetstorm, not that I hate the show but I just don't like how the build up of Thrust being revealed to be Silverbolt went down the drain as if they were retconning it so that it was Jetstorm only to bring back Waspinator to humiliate and torture him even more #JusticeforWaspinator

I feel like they could’ve had Waspinator actually join the Maximals, getting rid of the bat guy, and actually have Silverbolt as Thrust and since Starscreams spark is mutated, why not have him as Jetstorm and Megatron just so happened to come across it

As much as I've enjoyed seeing Blackarachnia and Silver Bolt reunited, it always bothered me with the Thrust side plot. It was heavily implied that he was "Silver Bolt" since Thrust, "accidental" or not, has helped Blackarachnia a few times and even tried to listen to her despite that Jet Storm interfere a few times. Then the side plot went into a massive curve ball by having Jet Storm ended up having Silver Bolt's spark, which leaves a lot of confusion on why Thrust was helping out to begin with. Since they went through this route, that's mostly fine I guess, but I think there's also a missed opportunity that Thrust, even though Blackarachnia later finds out he is actually Waspinator, there's a missed opportunity of a character growth for Thrust- maybe Thrust could have grown closer to Blackarachnia to the point that he could have slowly at least cared to the point where Thrust wants to help Blackarachnia take down Megatron. But that's just my 2 cents.

I think it would've been a better twist if Thrust was actually Tarantulus instead of Waspinator, which would make more sense since he, in a way, created her and even had control of her spark for a brief period of time. Maybe when his body was destroyed by the Vok, his spark somehow survived and made it back to Cybertron, where Megatron harvested it and put it inside Thrust. Hmm?

In the production bible, there's at least two variations on the plot detailed in separate sections - one has Silverbolt actually being trapped inside of Thrust, while the other uses Jetstorm. It is possible that the writers may have been indecisive on the outcome, which is possibly why Waspinator comes out of nowhere.

Honestly, the only real bastardization done to Silverbolt was him shit talking Cheetor for no reason. I mean, the man's seen him straight up grow up into a young adult, there's no real reason to call him a kid.

I like how the dynamic between Silverbolt and Blackarachnia is sort switched. In Beast Wars, Silverbolt was the one to convince Blackarachnia to join the Maximals and become good, and in Beast Machines, Blackarachnia returns the favour by convincing Silverbolt to rejoin the Maximals, after everything Silverbolt had gone through when he was being mind controlled by Megatron. I will admit though I didn’t like how Silverbolt suddenly had a huge grudge against Cheetor.

He had a grudge with Cheetor towards the end of S3 of Beast Wars when it looked like Cheetor was also interested in Blackarachnia. It would had made sense if that tension was still a thing in Beast Machines, but there wasn't any point of the show where Cheetor was still interested in Blackarachnia. So unless Silverbolt's grudge for Cheetor is because of him potentially trying to steal his spider girl, Silverbolt had no reason be an ass to Cheetor.

@ exactly it just made him look like a jerk, it would’ve made sense if Silverbolt and Cheetor had a rivalry from the beginning even before Silverbolt met Blackarachnia, but pre season 3 there wasn’t any indicator that the two had any sort of malice towards one another.

Even Though I wasn’t a Big Fan of Transformers Beast Machines. I wasn’t a big Fan of Tranaformers Beast Machines did to Silverbolt. But I did like The Reversal Role of Blackarachnia and Silverbolt’s Relationship. I Despise Silverbolt’s Robot Form but his Condor Form looks Pretty Cool. Even Though Transformers Beast Machine is Definitely a Letdown Compared to Transformers Beast Wars. I feel like The Only Good Thing that was passed on from Transformers Beast Wars to Transformers Beast Machines was That David Kaye is Still The Best Voice Actor of The Beast Machines Cast. Throughout I’m Still Confused why Megatron wants to Purify Cybertron but David Kaye Truly Gotten into The Darker Tone. 18:44 To 20:19
