Nah this is a dark beat, the backround sample is eerie. During this era hiphop was really popular. During segas basically whole lifespan they had alot of good music, they had good composers to. I think michael jackson even gave some of there people ideas when he was making music for sonic 3, but sega always would suprisen you with a dope beat back then. Nintendo was wayy to pussy and for sheltered kids to have shit like that, i even remember Sega channel, to this day, that shit was soooo ahead of its time. Sega vision was sick to.

This song always scared me as a kid. I would be fighting that green alien thing with the eyeballs, then I'd die and it would be stuck on the screen with its face open and "GAME OVER". This song always caused such a sense of dread, it made me scared to enter a dark room. I would picture that green eyeball thing and this music and it would scare the hell out of me. Just listening to this gives me goosebumps and activates my fight-or-flight response. Traumatic childhood memories I guess.

Lol, i remember playing this on a OG xbox i had modded as a emulator for nes snes and n64 and sega, and we used to play this all the time, mario kart 64 was also dope we were a little ahead of ourtime, nobody was modding shit back then and you had to have the right model OG xbox for it to even work, i think they since fixed that. But playing mariokart n64 with brand new xbox S controllers with crisp sticks was amazing, this was like in 2005, 2006. But i remember onetime playing this with a bunch of people after drinking, and the game over scene came on and this beat came on and like half the room started nodding there head, lmfao, dope beat. But i was lucky as fuck to have Sega channel back in the day, thinking back i still cant beleive how ahead of its time that was.

I love it when there are Game Over themes don't sound creepy or taunting, most of them are. Like, I didn't even realize this was a "Game Over" theme when I first saw the Game Over screen on KZbin.. it sounds so... catchy, to be a "YOU LOST" theme. Definitely the best way to *celebrate* goofing up on a video game. I bet people even purposefully kill themselves on this game just to hear this shit man, lol.
@b2j1353 жыл бұрын
bruh I've been looking for this goddamn song for like 45 minutes!!! I KNEW I remembered it from somewhere lol ...growing up I don't remember playing this game but apparently I did with my brother and our father. Now tho I have memory of it from the mid-late 2000's when my mother bought me the Sega Geneis Plug and Play console. It had this Sonic 1, Kid Chameleon, Flicky, Golden Axe and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. I played this one A LOT but never knew I played it before until she told me one day when I was playing it in the living room. This theme...I heard it SO MANY TIMES because I would always die lol it was a very unforgiving game even for a teenager 😋

New Jack swing heavy . . . . Didn't mind dying in this game due to this . . .what up yall Wesco!!
I wonder if the philosophy for making the game over theme this song is to give the player a sense of "Awww damn!! I almost had it!!! HAHA!!! Good try though!!! Lets go again!!!" Ir tries to encourage another playthrough instead of how most games leaves you with a sense of dread and depression with their music. "Welp, that's the end. Don't feel like playing anymore. "
