I hadn't seen this particular video before. You have a deep archive! This was great, and gives me more ideas about salvaging ghost prints, incomplete prints, roll off papers, and prints that are unsuccessful. I love the watery layers of the inks, which is something I've been experimenting with in my eco-dyed papers. Thank you Robyn!

Wow! Your techniques are so inspiring. I am learning so much from you. I have taken a look at other KZbin videos, and have been disheartened to find that the people in some videos feel it is not worth the work to put closed captions in their videos. That means those of us who are deaf or hard of hearing are shut out of the videos. You have my heartfelt thanks for making such an effort to make your art and techniques accessible to everyone.

Another great video. Thanks ! I think the problem with vintage photo... is that it is exactly what it says it is... vintage PHOTO not vintage PAPER!! But people are so used to following what everyone else does, they don't stop to think about it...

I love this new technique. Hopefully I will have time tomorrow to try it out. I wanted to thank you immensely for describing the alternate approach to creating collages. Just the other day, I was working on two in the large gray journal. In each of them I got to the point where I felt I just needed to leave them for a while and return to them at another time. In the past I probably would have continued to work on it and get aggravated. Consequently your discussion of a similar approach was very helpful! Hugs, S

I was really inspired by your mica video. And of course I wanted to go out and buy the powders, but I decided to make sure I loved the technique before investing any cash, so I used old eye shadows in place of a raft product and they worked beautifully. Needless to say I would invest in mica powders in the future but I am having a great time with the eye shadows which I was never going to use. Thanks for your inspiration.

Great technique Robyn, thanks for all that you share with us! I hooked up my new HP printer yesterday...I love it !!!!! When you print on onion skin or a slippery paper...will it pull through from the tray below or do you have to do something special to keep it from slipping and jamming...my other printer won't pull it through and gets all caught up. Also, I just cut the pages from a second book and found a much easier way...I used a box cutter with a new blade. You have to be careful not to cut through too far but once you get it it's done in no time!

Hi Tiff Hop, Thank you for your input, just wondering how do you get rust dying in your projects? TYIA
@tiffhop35444 жыл бұрын
@@Crisferusa Hi there. Usually I incorporate it into a collage piece in my journal or on a canvas..I rust dye fabric..old book papers..index cards..file folders..even paper bags😍😍..the best is when you lay the items on a paper bag to dry (like from grocery store) and you get some rust staining residue on the bag..oh my just yummy..like a 2 for 1😊..Good Luck💃💃

These papers are utterly gorgeous, Robyn. Genuine old Venetian walls, eat your hearts out!! Unfortunately we can't get the Patti Pockets Stainz here in the UK, or the beautiful Blick paints, but I eventually managed to track down the PaperArtsy Fresco paints. I attempted the effect with matt emulsion paint (for walls) but it made the paper extremely difficult to pull, and the plate resisted the paint so it tended to creep and ball up. It took several more normal pulls to restore things to normal. Do you know if the Patti Pockets Stainz are acrylic medium/or oil based? They do seem to resist water. I am assuming that clean-up is with water? I'd like to attempt some kind of DIY version since the shipping makes it prohibitive to obtain here in the UK. A question about the Arteza mica powders. Do they have some sort of binder in them? If not, what stops them rubbing off when the page is dry? I watched a video recently of someone using them and she was mixing them with gum arabic and the process seemed pretty laborious. I've always used Perfect Pearls in the past and they come with gum arabic mixed with them. I am just loving your channel...
