Tearing the pages looks easy for you but for me I don’t get them so neat. Does it just take practice?

Honestly, I think it depends on the book itself. Trust me, I normally have a lot more difficulties tearing them out.

How did you determine how many pages to tear out ? Would it be a different amount depending on thickness of your book?

I just basically guess about how many pages to tear out. The more pages you tear out, the less pages you will have in your final project. So, it really depends on how many pages you actually want in the final project.
