In toss, in theory every deck is strong and week to a specific match up in the format, so it would be nice if we saw those match ups occur, like the qli-ba-shaddoll match ups a few months ago

I'll be honest, History is my favourite out of all the Cimo series. I really hope Cimo dedicates more time to playing these games correctly, over prog or jank. At the end of the day, this is the series where the representation of games IS supposed to be accurate (you can excuse prog or jank as backyard playground games). Recently the misplays have gone up a lot and the quality of the games have taken a nosedive (no I don't mean the FTKs, I mean accurately showing how the decks (non)-interact).

@@meathir4921 yeah and somehow Cimo always plays my favorite decks with the wrong builds (like this one or Trickstars), plays them like shit and is very nonchalant about it, while I could kind of understand that with a deck he never really played like this one today, the episodes that he played Trickstars were super hard to watch, I know he loves TS but not only he never really shows the love he also never really shows the skill with the deck someone would expect a player to have with his pet deck not to mention he should at least get the build right and know how to build the deck but with TS he did such a piss poor job that deck was lacking identity so bad, it was part burn part control part floodgate but never really went in on one strategy, granted you could build the deck in such a way that you could adapt your strategy on the fly but he didnt even build the deck right to be able to do that. Not to mention he seemed like he doesnt know what his cards do half the time. I can tell you even the effects and stats of the monsters that are not used, let alone know all the cards in the deck off top of my head and what they do how they do it and interactions with other notable cards. I'd have less of a problem with him playing the artifact waking the dragon variant (which did not exist as a deck at the time and even later on it was a so so gimmicky deck which relied on gettin ultimate falcon off wtd which you'd use the artifact xyz to pop, it was kind of you either got the droll lock or you went into durendal and wtd, durendal was nice because it can be used as a substitute to TS reincarnation if you draw droll and the rest of artifacts but no Candina or fieldspell you still could lock them if you were smart about it) but no, not even that. He played a bad deck badly and its sad because if he treats his pet decks like this we got no chance of him representing any of the upcoming decks in a proper manner.

The new support is pretty good as well. Issue is that Trap decks have to be at Eldlich or Labyrinth levels of power. Altergeist still plays on the philosphy of 2014 Traptrix or Paleo Frogs - lose to Feather Duster. There's not really much recovery.

Cards like Sekka's Light and Grass are some of my favorites because of the ways they effect deckbuilding, but while Grass encourages big piles with too many engines, Sekka's Light takes the monster Mash Deckbuilding archetype and gives it an incredibly good reason to never play any other Spells. Got so much use out of this during my first few years back into Yugioh in Fur Hire and even more when the BA Link finally gets printed and BA just becomes the best level 3 extension deck you can find. The craziest part is that these decks were never even close to overpowered, so I have no idea why Sekka's Light is still limited to this day. Real shame too, because I could see Scareclaw getting some interesting experimentation with it with how monster dense that deck needs to be

@@arobnugzo6818 TBF, most of the Scareclaw spells are used to grab you material, so you could probably get by with generic extenders. The bigger problem is the traps, especially the Icarus Attack, that is probably too good to drop entirely. I still think you could make it work, but it is debatable whether it would actually be worth it. The extra draw would increase your large board consistency of Tri-Heart plus your choice of negation tool (Utopic Draco was what I used last time I played the deck)

Sekka’s Light was hit because it saw play in Danger Thundra and Konami refused to address the problem directly at the time. It wasn’t even a real hit; plenty of lists weren’t on the Sekka’s Light version.

There has been so much talk about what decks are good for beginners and i feel like this game has shown pretty good why i think trap decks are pretty good for beginners. Ive started myself in TOSS format with altergeist and being able to slow the game down to a snails pace makes understanding concepts like card advantage and also game mechanics like chains and response times way easier to learn.

Alltergeist is one of these decks that feels kind ok to play, maybe even great if that's your play style, but miserable to play against. If you can't stop it quickly things will get out of hand and if they can't make multiple Hextia or a Hextia + Memorygant it will take many turns for the kill and the grid game of the deck is very strong.

We played the deck even before it was so widely popular as 2 of my group were BA diehards and played BA from even before Betty was released (one of those 2 was me) and we built sekkas BA before it was widely popular, granted it had no Snow and no Sauravis, soon after that other sekkas BA lists started to pop up which were way better than ours was and we just incorporated the best ideas those lists had into our decks. 1 other thing I think I missed in Cimoos list besides the missing Hydralanders is the absence of F0 in the extra...

Watching Altergeists play is like standing in line at the DMV while slowly drilling a screw into your head. Either you finally slog past the bureaucracy that is the playstyle, or you die, but the deck ensures that, no matter the outcome, it's complete agony every step of the way.

Since we've reached 2018, can you just switch to EDO pro? I mean you didn't want to initially cuz of all pre-errata cards. Now that all cards are new, only few cards are pre-errata and THEY ARE AVAILABLE such as IO and Firewall. MBT using sky striker spells while having monsters in main monster zone last episode, to rhino summon cir from deck this time and using phoenix TWICE per turn, messing the EMZ for MR4 many times before, like just switch, it WILL help make the series good and watchable again.

Am I the only one who wants them to actually learn the decks/match ups even if that means uploads are every 2 weeks or more? It doesn't feel like a proper showing of what the decks can do and like they said, the decks are complicated and are getting more complicated to pilot so I imagine this is only going to get worse till they catch up to current year where they MIGHT remember deck how to properly pilot the decks.
