Alternate Artwork & Mods (Mayflash F500)

Thanks to you and this video I printed my own backplate artwork for my brand new F500 v2. It took a bit of fernangling because the only template I found online was some weird paper size (not the expected A3) but I got it going. Now it looks amazing. No need to print on photo paper, regular 80gsm printing paper looks great under the perspex. For those that are thinking of upgrading the buttons, I only recommend doing so for cosmetic reasons. The Mayflash buttons feel identical to the Sanwa buttons I swapped in.

any idea if crown levers fit the may flash? i want to change mine.

@@green4envy660I don't know for sure but I do know that it fits the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT. Compare the diagrams of that against the Crown lever you have in mind and go from there. End of the day, you can make any lever fit. It just means that you might need to do some drilling for yourself.

Hi, sorry if i do some fault. I ear, you talking about 4 gates piece. In the box, ive got a 8 gates too, which i mean he have the 8 directions. Do you think it's better or not ?

I usually prefer an 8 way gate, unless the game is meant to only use four directions (like Pac-Man). Then I'll use a 4 way gate but only if its in the diamond position and not as a square.

I added a Seimitsu stick (LS-40) and buttons to mine. Heard it was a bit better for shmups than Sanwa.

I was about to say some thing on you're last video for the joystick.Still that's the way to go on a "mayflash" is it to mod it since stock wise it's not great.It's no "hori or qanba" but good enough after you mod it.

What is meant by "legal sized paper" like DIN4 is way to small DIN3 is way bigger. do you know the dimensions of the paper you printed it on? Nice work trying to mod mine too and want to get an artwork too.

I didn't realize that legal size paper may be just American terminology. Legal size paper is 8.5 x 14 inches.

I just bought legal size glossy paper and printed them myself on an EcoTank InkJet Printer.

Sorry, I don't have any of those files online anywhere, but most of the images I used are already available online through searching (which is how I got most of them anyway). The template of the Mayflash F500 controller is available online as well and can be found pretty easily. If you've got Photoshop it's actually pretty easy to use the template and add you're own images.
