although the alternate 9/11 is cool, theres still some factors to look at: 1: both the empire state building and chrysler building were constructed from concrete in the middle to up, so the likelyness of the towers falling is very low. 2: the reason why the trade center towers were attacked was to weaken the united state's power internationally, which is why the pentagon and possibly another building in D.C were attacked.
@LegoBrianProductions3 жыл бұрын
True. That is a very good point. Perhaps those buildings were attacked for different reasons?
@dancarr8203 жыл бұрын
@@LegoBrianProductions maybe it was to weaken American moral and make them think "oh if they can do that i don't want to get involved in the Mesopotamian Civil War"? Also in alternate universes those buildings could have been built of other materials.
@catimpact3 жыл бұрын
Just speculation, but maybe that's why only "hundreds of people died" (like possibly 200~300ish maybe?) rather than the 3,000~ people that died in real life; considering that both the Empire State and the Chrysler are made with better materials it only sustains heavy damage and outright just doesn't collapse (which in real life the collapse of the towers is what caused so many deaths on 9/11). Also the reasons why the Empire State and the Chrysler would be attacked could possibly be for not a specific symbolic reason like it was on 9/11, but just for the sake of outright terrorism and trying to strike fear into the American public possibly? but it's most likely imo that the Twin Towers were just never built, so they never become the largest tower in NYC, making the Empire State and Chrysler the next targets.

This is an easy 10/10 and I would like to clarify a couple things to viewers who are confused of the "Jackson I era" or the "MacAruthrian Regime" Jackson I era: this is based on a true fact. Pres. Andrew Jackson used veto power all the time to veto bills he didn't like and his opponents would always call him "King Andrew" for expanding the power of the Exec. Branch and regular use of veto power. MacAruthrian Regime: As you see in this video, Gen. Douglas MacArthur took power after Pres. Garner was assassinated. But he was actually fired by Pres. Harry S. Truman (in real life) in 1950-51 for threatening to nuke North Korea during the Korean War (1950-53). Is it weird to say that I would prefer living in this alternate USA instead of the real one? It's not exactly for the reasons you think. I would love to see how King Andrew Jackson, Macarthur's dictatorship, and both civil wars would be discussed in history classes (and in the broader culture), how territories like Cuba and the Yucatan would have integrated culturally into the US, how Abraham Lincoln's surviving his assassination attempt would have affected the First Reconstruction -- would we be in a better place, race relations-wise? Don't forget that this US doesn't adopt a strict two-party system, which is awesome! I'll say again that I'd take this alternate USA over the real one by a long shot!
@BUMMY1053 жыл бұрын
I definitely agree. This alternate US history is much more interesting than our current version where it's all just civil unrest that doesn't explode in chaos due to timed incompetency. I could even see Jacksonians and MacArthurians debating the "Better America" ideals on the interweb against Federalists. Removing the idea that Congress is immortal makes alt. USA much more fun to study professionally, and it gives more of a strong focus on Democracy when the nation has had history of what would happen once we lose it.

I love the detail put into this scenario! A few thoughts: -Given the the USNA has expanded significantly in the South, I wonder if Spanish is a recognized minority language, or perhaps even a second official language of the USNA? -Sequoyah gets a thumbs up from me. The native peoples of America deserve a state of their own, at the very least. -I expect the constitution to probably be a lot less sacred in this timeline, due to the constant instability the USNA faced compared to our timeline's USA. Seems to be as a whole less polarized political environment then our USA as well. -Canada in this timeline would be a lot weaker then our timeline, given the fact the 50% of Canada's population lives in lower Ontario. I wonder if it is predominantly French speaking? -Union of Britain? I love that the Butterflies are flapping! I assume the Union is a superpower due to her colonial empire much like our timeline's Britain? -Given Virginia's loyalty to the Union in the First American Civil War, I'd assume that Robert E Lee would be a prominent Unionist general, correct?
@LegoBrianProductions2 жыл бұрын
Alright to answer your questions, 1. Yes, Spanish is one of the two main languages of the USNA. I'm not sure if it would be a second official one, but there is a high possibility that it could be given the amount of land in Mexico that was taken. 2. That's great! I really felt that, when I made my own alternate timeline of the US, I wanted to make sure that the Native Americans/American Indians had a little more representation when it came to naming places and whatnot, hence why I named or renamed states after certain tribes. 3. Yeah. I mean, while the constitution is still looked towards for a precedent as it is in our own world, in this alternate reality, the strictness of the constitution and its rules are a little less enforced, allowing for more progressive and social change. 4. So, I never really intended on making Canada absolutely weak or, at the very least, about half in size based on people and power. It really is funny when you think you're just making a difference on a map that some people might find very interesting if things had gone differently for a said country, only to realize that, if you haven't payed attention to the other factors of studying the world, ie. Geography and Demographics, you quickly realize that maybe the new borders might have some harsh or life-altering consequences. Also, would Canada be predominately French speaking? Yes, very likely so given that most people would live in modern day Quebec. 5. Yes, the Union of Britain is very similar to the Soviets in our timeline, however, they do retain much of their colonial possessions across the world, minus Australia and India. 6. Yes, if he remained loyal to his state, then yes he would have been a very prominent Union General, and maybe even the head Union General alongside or instead of Grant. I hope this answers your questions. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I hope that you'll like what I come up with next, whenever it gets done, that is.

Great video! You really put a lot of effort into it, and it shows. However, I do have a couple of issues, one minor and one major. First the minor. The far western portion of Arizona Territory was transferred to the state of Nevada in 1907 after new silver deposits were discovered, and the federal government felt that the state was better suited to handle the ensuing silver rush. (Not to mention that it was pretty much cut off from the rest of Arizona Territory by the Colorado River.) Now, for the major. As a Canadian it pains me to say this, but without Southern Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia, there is absolutely no excuse for an independent Dominion of Canada to survive. In fact, you removed three of the four provinces of the new country. (The initial province of Ontario was essentially your state of Huron here...not to mention that Huron would have been the first state to be named after a Native American tribe.) Even with Montreal and Quebec City, it would not have survived, as Halifax was the major port at the time, and remained so even into the 20th Century.
@LegoBrianProductions3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, as I continued to make the video, like you, I also realized that Canada as an independent state would likely have not survived on its own without many of its key population centers. It would have likely become a mostly uninhabitable place with a low population, similar to if Siberia were to break off from Russia. Next time I make one of these types of videos, I will try to make a little more sure that, if a country's borders include more land than they currently own, would it make sense for other nations around them to coexist as well or would it be impossible as there would be little to no resources for those neighbors to use. With that said, I appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

I agree, Britain would've most likely sold Canada to the US after they lost the southern provinces

This is definitely the best American alternate History video I have ever seen and one of the greatest alternate History videos, and I don't mean it like one of those comments "THIS IS THE GREATEST VIDEO EVER!!!!!!" (without meaning it), this is one of the best I've ever seen. So much effort was put in this and I also appreciate the Presidential elections and the alternate Parties. Though I have one critique, if he was in this timeline like he was in real life, William Jennings Bryan was anti-US Imperialism and so he would have likely freed Cuba and Philippines after a victory in the Spanish war as well as left Hawaii alone. Other than that though, this is a brilliant and high effort video that deserves more attention. Great job.

Well done! I caught myself reading every update on the screen! I’d love a European version that takes place in the same alternate world. I was curious what was going on with Britain, France and Germany in WW2 since there was no mention of Hitler! Seemed like France went fascist and UK went communist? Also, love the alternate state names. It added character! It’s easy to make alternate history seem to “out there” but you did a great job of keeping it realistic by tying in real presidents and such throughout. 10/10
