A breakdown of my Alternate Realities submission.
I used Maya for everything 3D, Substance Painter, Alchemist and Photoshop for texturing, and AE for compositing. Some of the models were purchased, some I already had, and some were made for this. Texturing took up most of the time, with pretty much everything painted in Substance and tweaked in Maya.
Thanks for watching!
PC specs (since some have asked): Ryzen 3950x, 64G ram, RTX 2080super.
Took somewhere around 90 hours of rendering for FG and BG.

Is there a Way to contact Sir Wrender Personally. No way He won't respond. I made a mindblowing Render(Iron man Animation) using a Smartphone. Maybe he should take a look and leave his thoughts. But I don't know how to get his attention. LOL I guess I'll have to wait for the video to get viral. 🙂

Awesome! Do you like Blender? What do you think about Maya vs Blender for modelling? Thanks you
@scgrimm
@scgrimm 3 жыл бұрын
Blender is awesome! It’s amazing how far it has come. I just know my way around Maya from working with for so long, but I’m looking into using blender for some things that are more difficult to do in Maya, like dynamic paint. As for modeling, I don’t think it really matters. I’m not a great modeler, but find Mayas modeling tools to be fine for some hard surface work.

I am learning blender at the moment, saw this video and asked myself why and how there are those passes exported separately (diff, spec, trans, etc.)... Can someone recommend some tutorials, that explain this workflow? Preferably in english or german 😅 Thank you! Looking forward to Clints next Render-Challenge ;)
@scgrimm
@scgrimm 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. I searched "blender render passes" in youtube and found a lot of tutorials that explain render passes. If you add together the passes (diffuse, specular, transmission, emission) you get the result of the beauty render. Having it broken into passes means you can adjust specific things in your render. They can can broken down in other ways, but those are the basics. The specific passes may depend on the renderer you are using as well, so be sure you are looking at those when looking for a tutorial.
