Thanks, David--good stuff! I take it this would work for key of A as well, except that you'd be confined to the top two strings for your licks (wait--was that in your last lesson!?). I'd also like to get your thoughts on the possibility (if any) of ghosting the lower alternating bass string. I'm thinking here of, say, a groove in G where you'd keep the open D string going (so a ringing 5th) while letting go of the low G note and just muting the low E string to allow some freedom to access higher positions for licks on the top three strings--hope this makes at least a modicum of sense!

Hello David, The cool playing at 8:11 - 8:19... I really like that style... but can't wrap my head around it... any suggestions on that? I do work the thumb out to be able to be more automatic, just not there yet I reckon... I have had success on the "Six Steps to Playing Finger Style Blues in E" lessons you have. There is a bit less going on there, easier for me to hear the 'melody' over the bass notes and play them both.... But here I'm getting lost.. the melody notes on higher strings eluded me as to when in time they appear... if that even makes sense... Oh well, I really enjoy the challenge of playing and your videos are really great. Thanks so much.

David, I really enjoy your fingerstyle approach. I like to use chord variations up the neck and am working on connecting those variations with different licks. Any suggestions for working on that? Jamie
