My contract got terminated because of too many MCs due to a trauma I had while doing HOship. It's ortho related and I had to have surgery done on both of my feet. Over the past 2 years after I got terminated, I did get a job at a private sector as an account assistant for a year. And let me tell you the experience I get while working there was just amazing. I wish our hospitals can have that kind of working environment. They teach a newbie like me that don't have any basics in accounting very patiently. They never scolded me for mistakes that I made, instead they showed me how to do it properly. Honestly it was heaven working there. I can say for sure that if those people at the company get into HOship they will die because it's like a total opposite of what they are living now. I'm really grateful to get the chance to work in a different working environment which I hope I can implement later if I ever get to become an MO or specialist in the gov hospitals. Again I know comparing an accountant job and a doctor is nonsense since the urgency and emergency are different but IMO, junior doctors are still learning, and there is a difference between teaching and mocking. Just like you said, with the amount of workload stress we have, we don't need another stress factor like toxic working environment. Comparing with the older days are irrelevant because of the rising of population with knowledgeable citizens. Plus new diseases are arising, new diagnostic test availables, new drugs and managements, filling up a lot of forms because of medicolegal issues. These are all factors that increases the workload in healthcare industries. We see a lot of HO running around in the hospitals yet the gov claimed that the workforce is not enough. That alone explains that the workload have increases compared to the older days. Anyway just wanna let you know that this video expresses everything I have to say about HOship. Regardless I will give my last shot to get my medical licence again. I'm going to try to reapply again after I'm fully recovered from the surgery. Keep on doing what you are doing. Your words are very motivating and very straightforward. You can be a very good motivator ❤️

Thank you for sharing this. I'm not a houseman in Malaysia but I would be graduating in 4-5 months time as I'm a final year student. After going through clinical and the treatment from doctors and looking at the abuse HOs get (I thought it was bad for us medical students but HOs get it so much worse) I already lost the passion and interest to be a practicing doctor

KKM should seriously do something about our houseman working style. They are losing good talents of our country.

Ya I have worked in the system for 10 years now. Recalling the earlier experiences as a HO is soul-destroying, to say the least. I cant possibly believe how I have survived it. Actually I considered myself very lucky I managed to pass each posting without getting extended. I have a bond w JPA thats part of the reason I tried to persevere through whatever that I go through. But I did not survive this journey without being damaged, it did take away a part of me. Of course to say my journey working in the system is all negative is definitely not true, I did reap some rewards that money cant buy. ❤

I did my housemanship and nearly quit but I stayed because the head of department of OnG told me that try to complete to get the license N certificate of completion of housemanship. I got my certificate but my license had been put off because I was under psychiatric follow up.

If your license had been put off, how will you practise in the future? After all that you've been through. :(

@@HarukiGates I am not interested at all to practice as a doctor. I am interested in other paths that health care provides. Being a doctor n treating patients is not the only one. There are many other things. However that is the road less traveled

What if I have only worked for about 1 month? Do I still need to pay the penalty? 😂
@ChristalAsong
@ChristalAsong 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Benjamin! After 1 month of working, I think need to pay the penalty if you choose the 24-hour notice option. But if work less than 1 month, I don't think you have to. Nevertheless, better clarify with HO admin first

@@ChristalAsong I assume the system (24H or 1mo notice) only works after we have received even a single pay right 🤔 I actually wanted to clarify w the admin but then 1 whole department will know so I just diam2 only for now and only told a few HO 🤣

Hi there! :) Yes I heard working hours & work culture is better overseas, at least that's what I heard in UK and Australia. But better get clarification from those already working/studying there
@Shahmina2512

Yeah it is so much better, but, you need to sit for additional tests, pay for visa, pay for the test, and if you don't meet the requirement, you need to pay a lot to retake it. So if you're loaded I think best option is to do it overseas and don't stick to Malaysia. Save yourself 😭😭😭😭😭

Oh and also you need to factor in, paying to live there and the food there is also expensive. They get paid 1.8k pounds per month for houseman and even then you need to minus a lot for rent, transport, food. So in terms of money you'd be losing a lot if you're not well off to start with
