Alternative therapies could cause "significant potential harm" to those with autism: Workgroup

A group of experts on autism has said that stem cell therapy is not recommended for children and teenagers of autism spectrum disorder. Latest guidelines by the Clinical Practice Workgroup state it is among alternative therapies which could cause "significant potential harm". CNA spoke to two people who led the 22-member workgroup - Dr Mae Wong, Senior Consultant Paediatrician at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and Dr Aishworiya Ramkumar, Consultant at the National University Hospital's Child Development Unit.

Here's a thought: Stop looking at autism as something that needs to be "treated" or "fixed". Autistic brains have a fundamentally different structure than neurotypical people. That's not something you can change with drugs or blood treatment. Instead of trying to change autistic people. Look for ways to accommodate the autistic people in your lives.

Competency and leadership are precisely the attributes that are lacking in the 4G politicians. Is he confused, lost or suffering from some form of mental dysfunctions? Real leaders don’t stay in denial but are able to accept harsh criticisms, admit their mistakes and show resolve in making good by their response, not more rhetoric.
