I wish I got my period, I'm already 15.. but hey, if it starts at any time I'll immediately use zero waste sanitary products so I won't ever be contributing to any hygiene product waste :D

Pms itself sucks. My cramps were so bad throughout the night that I was dreaming about them. Enjoy your freedom for as long as you can. :]

Every period cramp feels like your lower stomach is trying to rip itself apart and periods suck because you need to constantly change and clean up, your white undergarments will get stains, teachers wont always let you use the br when you need to, you get more moody, your appetite will change, you will get unhealthy food cravings, so in a nutshell, periods are not something you should look forward to, trust me 😅

I use reusable pads and they are amazing. Hey don't rush it I didn't get mines until I was almost about to turn 16 and I'm 20 years old now. I have endometriosis and cysts my period is how I found that out.

I have been using a Diva cup for years and have told other women about it. Although I use a menstrual cup, I was still buying liners or pads for heavy cycle days. You've convinced me to buy the undies and reusable pads...so, thanks!!

Loved video Ladies! Truly informative. It can be daunting trying something new, and this video really helps for all us newbies opting for waste free periods. I have recently joined the movement myself now at 41 years young! Ha...you are never too old to learn something new. I am changing my habits for the better, showing love for our planet and saving money in my wallet too! Hear me roar ;) .Last cycle I used my Diva cup for the first time, and this past cycle I used my Diva cup in conjunction with my Thinx undies I finally received in the mail. Just ordered my Luna pads starter kit recently since I also plan on staving away from disposable panty liners for regular days when I don't have my period. So many wonderful options to be had. You have all this stuff covered in your video! Bravo.

Thanks for this video I'm 20 my periods are horrible and I have endometriosis and cysts so I have switched to cloth pads because my doctor said that regular pads are causing issues with my balance and stuff.

I loved this, I've been in the fence about switching over to the cup, I get extra extra heavy periods and with no access to a sink in the stalls at work I think it might be an issue, a lot to consider
@amcgivern17 жыл бұрын
Hey Gabriela! Alexis from the video here :) So when I'm at work I just tip it out, wipe it off with toilet paper and reinsert. You don't need to rinse off if you don't have access to a sink in the stall (I don't have that at work either unfortunately!). I actually switched to a mooncup partly for ZW and partly because I have a heavy flow - it holds much more than a tampon! Let us know if you have any Qs if you're still wondering about making the switch :) xx

I've been using the cup for over 5 years and have really heavy periods, but in my experience you get an extra few hours of wear compared to a tampon or pad. In my experience it takes about 5-6 hours on a really heavy day to empty it. After a few cycles you will be able to tell when you have to empty it. I've only had to empty it once in a public space, and it wasn't that weird. I went in when there is no one there and try to clean my hands as much as I could with toilet paper before I went to wash my hands properly in the sink. You get the hang of it after a few cycles and eventually you become a pro and not get any sort of blood on your hands. I recommend the livejournal called Menstrual Cups for any info for brands that might work for you because everybody is different!

I know its been awhile since this video was posed, but I like to let people know that for those not sure about using the menstraul cups ( I love my Diva Cup) a cheaper way to test one out is to order them from wish.com. I paid about $30 at WAlmart, and then a few months later found them on Wish for $5 and under in several brands and colors.

I have a few questions: 1. If you are bleeding heavily isn't it a pain in the ass to take it out and put it back in? especially in a public toilet. 2. Do you get blood in your fingers when you it back in? 3. Do you use the sauce pan for anything else, or do you have one just for the moon cup?
@Blueskyeyes186 жыл бұрын
1. It can be daunting only if you are having a lot of cramps and your vagina is hurting, otherwise is not a problem. 2. If you put it as soon as you start your period there will be not enough blood on your vaginal walls to get onto your hands ( maybe just a tiny bit). However if you put it in the second or third day there will be definitely more blood. 3. You have to boil every cup according to the directions of the manufacturer, if you buy one they will always tell you what to do, but in general boiling is recommended by all manufacturers

As an add on to this wonderful video, not all women menstruate and not everyone who menstruates is a woman.

Tbh the thinx pants are a really good resource for some transmen who find it really difficult experiencing a period. Obviously everyone should take care of whatever genitals they've got hygiene-wise, but thinx pants means someone can go about their day without really having to 'mentally confront' their period visually or by having to be more hands on with their genitals than they're comfortable with.

EVERYONE I HAVE A QUESTION ❗❗Can you wear a pad with the thinxs thing?
@ameliagreg65665 жыл бұрын
Why would you want to?
@coralovesnature5 жыл бұрын
Lily Benson Yes! I have been using only Thinx for about 4 months now and typically that by itself works fine and I don’t need any backup. However I did have to use a backup pad once and I put over the already used Thinx I was wearing and it worked completely fine and normal like it would in any other underwear.
