I agree and have said the same thing. I do not think there is any other channel that goes to the effort and lengths that Teddy does. I sort of pick at him about all of these newer watches stating in the manuals not to do this and that with them. What ever happened to buying a watch and just wearing for everything you do? Teddy has some of the best of everything for sale on his sight. But he also lets you know and honestly says I know you like this and that but if you want to do that you need this type of watch. Got hooked on these watch channels several years ago and started watching them when I was off several months for surgeries. And they have seemed to just multiply into a plethora of channels. Viewed a few from Teddy from 2017 and 2018 and he was on track then as well. I am sure that in his quiver is a watch or watches that would fit anyone's needs and wants.

Yes, they are a bit more expensive, but from direct comparison and experience I can definitely say that over the lifecycle of four years (I am not a kid that needs the latest item each year just to feel comfortable in its peer group) you save so much in time and nerves because they work without a service nerd or maintenance guru, that I would never ever get myself an Android phone or PC. A superlative video! I own three chronographs...the Omega Speedmaster Professional from 1971, the Lorier Gemini, and Bulova Lunar Pilot. I always considered the Speedmaster Professional and Daytona as equals. I love the Zenith, but for my use, the 12 hour timer/register is a must-have. Frankly I don't understand a 24 hour military time register. I don't see any advantage of spending thousands more on the Hamilton and Tudor. No 12-hour register. You might as well get the superb Lorier Gemini. It's a panda and come in three colorways. It's $499 and punches way above its weight, using the fantastic Seagull ST19 manual wind movement. No, the Gemini doesn't have the 12-hour register, but it's still a terrific chronograph. The Lorier and Bulova Lunar Pilot have been my daily drivers...with the Lunar Pilot being my favorite. Yes, I know it's a quartz, so it won't make your cut, but it has Bulova's revolutionary 262 kHz movement, that buttery-smooth chrono hand and the +-10 seconds-per-year accuracy.

Then I'd turn up your studio light(s) or invest in a something with a more powerful output (2x Aputure 300D, a single 600, or even some Godox VL300's) to step this up to the next level. I totally respect if this is the look you were going for, but I think it would be a little less distracting with the more even exposure and easier to watch with that change. Good luck!

The Zenith is definitely not the better watch. Of the two for uses by most people. The Zenith basically has one thing on the Daytona (the fast chronograph hand), and that's it. Most other points (size, readability, movement utility especially with that power reserve, bracelet, etc.) all seem to go to the Daytona.

@@sylinmino ‘cept the Zenith also has a date complication, the 36,000 vph also provides a better level of accuracy, albeit at the cost of a shorter power reserve…. it’s better value for money and is actually available at a discount to list…so how does the Daytona win exactly?
@sylinmino3 жыл бұрын
@@dougm659 well for a few reasons. 1. Date is nice, granted. The reason I didn't mention it is because it's subjective to tastes. 2. 36000 is theoritcally better for accuracy, but Zenith is not public with their actual accuracy numbers, and Rolex is (-2 to +2). So can't really be compared, and if they can it's a VERY small difference. 3. 72 hour power reserve is WAY more useful to most users. Going from 2-3 days, personally, has been a godsend in some of my personal set. 4. Size is a big one. The Zenith is quite chunky, while the Daytona is even unisex. Also, its thinness is pretty nuts. 5. Zenith is not public with their shock resistance or antimagnetism last I checked. Daytona has both. Overall, the El Primero has some nice features for hardcore enthusiasts but the Daytona has more conveniences for the general user.

If considering entry price-points I think Tissot V8 Chronograph Automatic looks pretty decent as a entry Daytona.

Zenith chronomaster sport is the only one that would scratch that itch for me

I swear if you took the branding off the Zenith/Daytona people would buy the Zenith 2:1 over the Rolex. So much better looking imo

You are 100% accurate. It's a better watch. Better movement, better proportions, has a date on it. I wanted a daytona and was gonna buy it then I saw the zenith and fell in love. I am buying one tomorrow. Also got the defy classic 41. I'm a Zenith fan

I really like the Hamilton Intra-matic chronograph. Mine keeps great time which surprised me, with its having an ETA/Valjoux movement.

He meant ‘attainable’ as in you can buy one from a local AD. Your mixing attainable and affordable. You can’t get a Daytona from an AD anywhere but you can buy ZChrono sports in store on a strap same day or pre-order a bracelet version and have it within a month if they don’t have it in stock.

I think the Tudor Chrono is the best buy. A modified (upgraded) B01 for almost half the price as a Navitimer.

Has to be the Autavia out of these for me. I also like the Sinn 144, and some of the Porsche Design chronos.

Great alternatives review. I'd chose the Autavia 02 great watch from Heuer ,a company with lots of racing history.

Hey, Teddy, since you’ve mentioned the Orient Neo 70, have you taken a gander at it and done a review? Seems like a very solid watch but kinda hard to come by outside the Asian market.
